Wedding Details Trip

When my sister came to visit a few weeks ago we got to plan, organize, and have lots of fun getting ready for her wedding... which is now less than two months away!  I can't wait.  It is going to be a fun evening and week leading up to the wedding for everyone involved.  I just love helping Lindsee with all the wedding buzz.  While she was here, we had a wedding shower, picked out fabric, talked about wedding day jewelry, shopped for mother of the bride and mother of the groom dresses, planned decorations, tried out hair styles...
visited the wedding day site ~ EMMA CREEK BARN (owned by our cousin)...
tried out delicious possibilities for wedding rehearsal dinner food, and sampled yummy bakery desserts.

A Wedding Shower For My Favorite Sister

I have a favorite sister.  Actually she is my only sister and I LOVE her dearly.  She is my best girlfriend and she knows me better than anyone, except my husband.  She is so lovely.  She is beautiful, caring, a friend to many, a loving and fun Aunt, a good listener, someone I love to laugh with, and a person I am glad I will forever have on my team and as my best friend.  Lindsee, I love you, and I am so happy that I could plan a fun wedding shower for you and share a fun evening with some of our relatives and forever family friends at our parents house.
Our Dad, being the fabulous woodworker that he is made this amazing cupcake stand for us out of old barn wood and aspen logs from around our family cabin in Colorado.  Then he wood-burned the E+L inside a heart onto a little piece of wood and attached it to the tallest aspen log.  SO CUTE!
Below was our shower snack table ~ Vegan cupcakes, veggies and dips, and rainbow fruit kabobs.
Sarah, Phoebe, and I had a good time making the fruit kabobs.  The girls were each in charge of handing me certain fruits in order to put on each stick.  We made 60 kabobs and placed them into blue mason jars to display them on the table and to eat later.  They turned out beautiful.
And below are most of the men who came with their wives to the shower.  They actually didn't stay at the shower, just gathered there to begin with, then headed over to a friend's house to eat desserts and play cards.  Pictured left to right: Myron, Paul, Charles, Duane, Dan, and Ernie.
Below is Lindsee and all of the lovely ladies who helped put together and give the shower to her.  Pictured left to right: Judy, Stacee, Lindsee, Phoebe, Sarah, Anne, Wyonna, Jan, and Gloria
Other guests included: Debbie S, Melody S, Heather H, Cindy and Kathryn K, Patti M, Jeline H, Shirley M, Marcia S, Jessica H, Johannah H, Vicki R, Clara Z, Matt H, Karen M, and Melissa M.
We played one game, "Who Knows The Bride Best?"  It was a lot of fun.  Each guest had to answer 32 questions all about Lindsee.  The person who got the most right got 15 correct answers.  Phoebe and Sarah even participated in this game.  Sarah had written an answer next to each question and was very eager to share every single answer out loud with everyone.  It was pretty adorable.  Phoebe had a page full of pretend cursive scribble marks, which took a lot of her concentration to get done.  She was very serious about getting her page filled up with writing.
Lindsee got some great gifts too.  It was fun to be together with this great group of longtime friends and share stories and laughter.
Each guest at the shower used a permanent black fabric marker to write their marriage advice or words of congratulations on a grey block of fabric to Lindsee and Eric Paul.  I will take these and sew them into a quilt for Lindsee and EP to have as a wedding memory keepsake.
We all LOVE YOU Lindsee!  And, we are all excited for you and Eric's wedding this fall.

Baseball Games

Sarah had a GREAT first EVER season of baseball this Summer.  She had not wanted to play until this year.   She had fun and learned how to play the game.  She especially enjoyed hitting and getting people out.

We signed her up in March and she was put on a team that had 10 boys and 3 girls, 13 kids total.  All of the kids were 6-8 years old.  They played two to four games a week starting in mid-May through June.  This was an actual baseball league, and Sarah's age group hit off of a machine that threw the balls into the kids at speeds of between 50-56 mph.
I LOVED to watch Sarah play, first base, third base, or the pitcher position.  She tried hard to stop balls from getting past her and could throw the ball very hard and pretty accurately to get runners out.  I LOVED cheering her on when she was hitting or making a play in the field.
May 27th - Turtles vs. Thunder
Below, she was playing the pitcher position.  The ball was hit right at her.  She ran, scooped it up, threw it hard and fast to first and got the runner out.  She was super excited and had a huge smile on her face.
After each game was the traditional hand shaking and "good games" with the opposing team.
Popee, Nanee, Silas and Eric all enjoyed cheering for Sarah!  Eric did a lot of cheering and coaching from right up at the fence.  Silas liked to holler "Go Wearwa, go Wearwa", trying to sneak out onto the fields and into the dug-outs when we weren't looking, smashing ants, and he really enjoyed playing in the dirt and rocks at every game.
June 2nd - Turtles vs. Thunder
June 3rd - Turtles vs. Lil Monsters
Sarah played third base during this game.
June 9th - Turtles vs. Lil Monsters
Below Sarah is up to bat... ready to slam the ball!
June 20th - Turtles vs. Eagles
Aunt Lindsee, and EP's mom, Patti, were in town one night to watch Sarah play.  What a loud and fun cheering section Sarah had that night.  "GO SARAH!!!"
Aunt Lindsee cheered from the fence a couple times too, like Eric, and gave advice and "good jobs" from right behind the dug-out fence.
June 23rd - Turtles vs. Dirt Devils
Last game of the season.
Sarah got a great hit and got onto first.  Then several of her teammates hit behind her helping her round the bases and score for her team.
Rounding third and heading for home!
