There is a pond near our house and a small field. We frequently see geese walking around the field or landing in the pond. Last fall we saw this group of geese often. One goose in this group looked a little different....
One day we walked closer to them with some treats. We were hoping to get as close as we could so that we could get a good look at Mr. Different. The treats did the trick and the geese waddled up close to us to gather the food as we all got a good look at him.
Wow! A spotted face. Orange feet and legs, and a large body. His bill was even different colors than the other Canadian Geese he was with.
There was even some orange on his bill! Look at his bill in the picture below of him looking directly at the camera.
The kids love learning about animals, and I love when we can do this so close to our house and in our community.
