Sarah and Phoebe both went to Wichita State University's Lady Shocker Basketball Camp for two days in June. One of Sarah's BFFs, Savannah, also attended. The camp was run by WSU's new women's head coach Keitha Adams, and her assistant coaches and players.
Day One
Below, the girls all checked in and ready to get their game on.
First stretching....
Then there was running and lots and lots of ball-handling practice.
Phoebe got a little extra help with her shot.
There were a few games of knock-out played.
Sarah did well on these drills.
Phoebe wasn't as quick, but tried hard to keep up and do the drills correctly.
Coach Adams and her players did a good job demonstrating skills, being positive, and encouraging all the young players.
Below, Coach Adams trying to help Phoebe learn to dribble between her legs while walking. This was a tough skill for Phoebe to learn.
Towards the end of each day the girls were split into two big groups according to age, then split into teams to scrimmage.
Sarah played good defense.
Phoebe was not as aggressive as some of the girls in her group, but did well guarding on defense and trying to get rebounds.
At the end of day one each girl was given a camp t-shirt and a WSU basketball to take home and practice their skills and keep. Silas was happy because Coach Adams gave him a new WSU basketball. She told him she wanted him to practice at home too.

Day Two
More ball-handling practice and drills...
Scrimmage towards the end of day two... Phoebe got more aggressive today, getting her hands on the ball, dribbling, and fighting for jump-balls.
Sarah was tough, like always, anticipating passes, and going for the ball.

Good job girls! Way to hustle and practice hard!
