Spring Break 2021

We took a few days over spring break in March to go to Branson, Missouri with some of our friends. We all have season passes for Silver Dollar City.  We rented a four bedroom house about 2 miles from Silver Dollar City so that we could all stay together and be close to the park each day.
Day One at Silver Dollar City
We parked in the lot, got our temperatures checked, and got on the SDC bus to ride up to the entrance of the park.  The kids were all pretty excited to start riding some rides.

Day one was a pretty cold day, with temps in the 30's and low 40's.  We all wore coats, hats, gloves, and layered up.  The lines for the rides that were open on day one weren't too bad.

We all had a lot of fun riding the wooden roller coaster, Outlaw Run.

Most of our group loved riding the Barn Swing over and over and over.

Mandy and I watched some adults ride the ride below together and they couldn't stop laughing, and we love to laugh too, so we ran to get on this one together....  After we were on, seated, buckled in, and had our picture taken, they told us adults could not ride together.  What!?!? At least we got a few laughs and a picture out of it.

Hot Mom's enjoyed this Fireman's Landing ride... The ride attendant enjoyed the Hot Mom's. Yikes! Ha! Yuck!
There were some crazy Covid guidelines that SDC was trying to enforce.  Some rides made riders be social distanced, some didn't, but none of the lines that patrons were waiting in were social distanced.  Some of the rides were sprayed and/or wiped down in between riders, some were not.  There really didn't seem to be in reasoning to these procedures and how/when they were done throughout the day in the park.  (Kind of like other places we've seen and been to at home and on other trips.)
We warmed up while eating a delicious lunch in Molly's Mill on day one.  Thank you David and Mandy!

That night back at our house, we relaxed, watched some March Madness on TV, and ate a homecooked spaghetti dinner.
Day Two at Silver Dollar City
The weather on day two was much warmer.  The crowd was much larger and lines were so so so long for rides.  The park was at capacity but they weren't running their rides at capacity levels which caused long wait times.  Half of your group waited almost 3 hours to ride the roller coaster Powder Keg and then about 2 more hours to ride the roller coaster Time Traveler.

Some of our other group members riding below, Steve, Abigail, Silas, and David.  Silas was excited to get to finally ride this coaster.  He hadn't been tall enough until this trip.

On day two we ate a snack lunch in the park and went out to eat a super-delicious Mexican dinner that night .

Below, David and Eric, performing some of their "Super Dad" duties...carrying kids on their shoulders, and pulling loaded wagons up and down hills throughout the park.

At the end of day two we realized that one of our favorite coasters, Outlaw Run, had little to no line, so we decided to ride about six times in a row.  Whheeeeee!

It was a fun trip with friends!
On our drive home our family stopped by "Big Brutus" to get a look at it.  We did not pay to walk up to it, maybe next time.
