Day One - Thursday, July 1st
We left around noon on Thursday to drive to Bella Vista, Arkansas for some family fun time. Both my siblings were flying in, Mom and Dad were driving in too, and we would be spending lots of time all together with my Uncle Ernie and Aunt Judy at their house on Lake.
Eric's brother, Bret and his family, happened to be in Bella Vista too. We got to spend an evening and morning with them before they left to drive back to Texas.
That evening we showed them the bat cave, "Crystal Cave". As it starts to get dark, the bats start to slowly come out of the cave on their hunt for bugs. It is pretty amazing to watch.
Below, Bret, Andrea, their dog - Boomer, Ayden, Kallin, Eric, Silas, Phoebe, Sarah, and Stacee.
Day Two - Friday, July 2nd
We started Friday morning with a cousin tooth brushing party.
Next, we met Bret and his family for a short hike and some waterfall fun and laughs.
After the waterfall adventure we headed to Ernie and Judy's house.
We all spent time on their deck playing games, visiting, and laughing.
The Erics helped trim some tree limbs.
The kids got ready to swim and go for a boat ride.
And, we helped clean out the boat and clean off the deck furniture.
Then it was time to swim!
That evening we loaded up for our first boat ride around the lake on our trip.
Silas and Will each took a turn helping Uncle Ernie drive the boat.
After the boat ride Judy had some of her DELICIOUS homemade fruit (banana and peach) ice cream waiting for us all to enjoy. YUM-YUM!
Day Three - Saturday, July 3rd
The kids enjoyed some cousin sleepovers in the living room of the house we stayed in.
We visited the waterfall again this morning with Lindsee, EP, Will, and Matt before heading over to Ernie and Judy's house for the day.
We spent some time pulling the kids around the lake in the tube.
HELLO UP THERE!!! HELLO DOWN THERE!!!
Ernie and Judy have a great driveway for playing outdoor games, and we have a Dad who is an expert in making up fun games on the spot, so we had some friendly competitions.
Eric and Silas fished some from the dock. They caught some Perch and Bass.
Tonight was the night for the BIG FIREWORKS show. Their lake always shoots fireworks off their dam on July 3rd. As the sun started to go down we got our glowsticks and loaded onto the boat to go watch the show from out on the water.
After the fireworks show we all enjoyed some more homemade ice cream and desserts.
Day Four - Sunday, July 4th
We rented three kayaks on Sunday to enjoy for the day. Matt, EP, Lindsee, and Will paddled them back from the marina to Judy and Ernie's dock.
Then we took turns kayaking around the cove, racing each other and having lots of fun.
The kids and BINGO, Ernie and Judy's dog, got along great. He was excited to come down to the dock.
Our whole "Grant" family - Matt, Eric, Stacee, Phoebe, Sarah, EP, Paul, Gloria, Judy, Ernie, Lindsee, Will, and Silas.
Silas found this small snail and carried it around for awhile before finally letting it go.
Siblings - Big brother, Ernie and little sister, Gloria
We had more driveway game fun....
Silas got some golfing tips from Uncle Ernie and got to try out his clubs and practice hitting some balls.
We ate some great lunches and dinners together! Thank you Ernie and Judy for the fantastic meals while we were there! Your hospitality and generosity is much appreciated.
Silas "accidentally" let the volleyball past him a couple times and it rolled down the hill into the lake. The first time Eric swam out after it. The second time we had to rescue "Wilson" by boat.
Below, Popee and Nanee with their grandchildren.
Day Five - Monday, July 5th
Our family had to leave and drive home on Monday. Everyone else got to stay one more day. Before we left we took a LOT of pictures.
More games were played and boat rides taken that day.
Day Six - Tuesday, July 6th
Tuesday before heading to the airport they had time for some more, visiting , eating, and games.
And then it was time to say "Good-bye".
