Our Summer Branson Trip

We took a family vacation to Branson, Missouri July 20-25.  Our first night we spent with friends from high school.  No pictures, but we had a great time visiting and swimming.  Thank you, Joey and Dusty for dinner, beds to sleep in, and your friendship for some many years!  The next morning we got up and headed to Branson.  Our first stop was at the Creation Experience Museum.
The Creation Experience Museum was a free guided tour through history and Biblical times.  It was worth our stop and we would all tell you it was worth our time.  The tour lasted less than an hour and they have a small gift shop as well.
Our next stop was later that afternoon at a small theater in Branson.  We enjoyed one of our favorite Branson bands THE PETERSENS.  Their voices are beautiful and they all have so much musical talent.  Simply amazing!
Buy tickets, hear their music, order merchandise....
The next day we visited the Freedom Encounter and watched the Freedom Journey Show.  It is a new show in Branson that we had never been to before.  This show was AMAZING, educational,  inspirational, and God honoring.  It started from America's roots and walked us through America's founding and our history using true stories, people, and music.  It honors our founders, our patriots, and our veterans.
Click HERE to go to the FREEDOM JOURNEY website and get your tickets now to see this wonderful show when you visit Branson, Missouri.  The Hendrickson family gives it two thumbs up!
We stopped to look at some of these famous movie vehicles....
Then we did a little shopping and stopped for lunch at Steak and Shake before heading to the Titanic Museum and exhibits.  (Phoebe had been wanting to visit this Titanic Museum for awhile now, so she was super excited about this stop on our trip.)
We were all given a boarding pass with the name of an actual passenger that was aboard the Titanic.  The boarding pass also had a little about the passenger.  At the end of the tour through the Museum there was a wall with all passengers names where you could look and find out if your passenger lived or died.
Silas did not like the Titanic Museum as much as the rest of us.  I believe it was a little overwhelming to him and frightening.  It is awfully sad, and walking through this Museum hit him hard with the tragic reality of so many deaths.
All of our passenger names lived except for Eric's passenger name.
The next day we spent at Silver Dollar City.  It was a hot day at the park, but we had a good time.  Lines weren't too long for rides and we got to see several shows throughout the park during the day.
It was the first day of the Moonlight Madness Festival at Silver Dollar City which meant that the park stayed open later, there were fireworks each night, and they kicked it all off with a free concert for all park goers that day.  Live in concert that night for all to hear was the NEWSBOYS!  The outdoor amphitheater was filled to capacity for the concert.
The fireworks were fantastic!
On our fourth day of vacation we headed back to Silver Dollar City for some more rides and daytime shows.  We rode several water rides on yet another very hot summer day.
The Saloon show is always one of my favorite shows in the park.  I love making Silas pose with the Saloon girls after the show.  Ha!
It was a great family vacation!  We had lots of fun and got to do some things we had never done before on this trip.
