 Date with Silas - January 7th

All Star Sports and Braum's

Silas and I had the first date of the year.  I am making a New Year's Resolution to do better than (1) Daddy date with each kid this year.  Note Silas's mohawk that Stacee is allowing him to keep.

We went to All Star Sports, which has been a date favorite, especially for Silas and Sarah.

We went to Chick Fil-A for dinner and Braum's for dessert.

Cheap date.  We had about $40 in tokens which earned enough credit for a $5 toy.  

Date with Silas - Friday, June 23rd

The girls were gone for the night so Silas and I had some Daddy/Son time.

We started out doing some fishing.

Then we played some basketball.  I won a close one, 15-13.

We got the tent set up.  It just fit the air mattress.

And the dog.

For dinner, we had hotdogs and chips.  Hotdogs from the campfire are really good.

We at the cookie I was given by one of the baseball players I coached.

Then we had Smores

We played one game of Candyland.  I believe Silas won.  I told a ghost story (the Tent Ripper) and went to bed.  We had practice in the morning so we didn't stay up too late.  Neither Silas or I slept well though.  It was a good time.

Date with Sarah - Saturday, July 15th

Mall, DQ, and movie

Sarah and I started off our date headed to Dairy Queen in Derby.  I first wanted to check out the new park. 

Sarah had an Oreo/Brownie blizzard.  I got to eat about half of it after she got full.

We then headed to the east Towne Mall for shopping and people watching.

We took a picture in front of the aquarium at the new Sheel's store.

The Third Planet store is definitely a good people watching store, especially the workers.

I told Sarah she could spend $50 since we weren't eating dinner or going somewhere that cost money.

She got this $50 sweatshirt

We finished our date by watching a movie.

Date with Phoebe - Sunday, July 16th

Kayaking, DQ, and movie

When Sarah and I stopped by the Derby park by the Arkansas River yesterday, I saw the river access sign below.  I had a great idea to have a kayaking date.  Phoebe took me up on it the next day.

We kayaked the 1.8 miles from the stop above the Warren Riverview Park to the Park.  

Stacee dropped us off and picked us up.

The kayak trip was about an hour and fifteen minutes.

The deepest we saw the water was about two feet and there were several times I had to get out because the water was too shallow (below 6")

Phoebe had a large vanilla milkshake

We finished our date with a movie.  We also got tickets for our next date on July 26th, Beauty and the Beast

Date with Sarah - Sunday, July 23

Kayaking and DQ

This weekend, Sarah and I did the kayaking trip from Haysville to Derby (same one Phoebe and I did last week) and Dairy Queen.

We had some rain during the week and the place we started had silted in some, which made the launch a little difficult.

The river was up a few inches, so we didn't get stuck quite as much.

We finished off the date with Dairy Queen.

Date with Phoebe - Wednesday, July 26th

Milk Float and then Beauty and The Beast 

I came up with the date plan to take Phoebe to Beauty and The Beast at Century 2.

It was a hot day (108 degrees).  We parked at my office and walked across the street to Milkfloat.

We sat in the balcony, but I was surprised how good the view was.  It was packed down on the floor seats but the balcony was only about a 1/3 full.

I must say I was impressed with the musical.  Phoebe liked it too.

Date with Silas - Saturday, August 12th

Kayaking and DQ

Silas was the last kid to take the kayaking adventure.

He was the kid who enjoyed the adventure the least.

We didn't come across any hidden treasures.

He enjoyed his Dairy Queen though.
