Phoebe tried out for the 8th grade basketball team right after her volleyball season ended. She made it, and earned a spot on the "A" team. She played a lot of post this season, becoming one of the leading rebounders for her team. She was tough underneath and got on the ground to fight for loose balls. One specific thing Phoebe worked on this season was how to take a charge. She was able to do this in a couple of the games. We saw lots of improvements throughout the season for Phoebe and the team overall. We had a couple girls who were great ball handlers and quick down the court, making us tough opponents for every team we played. Great season girls! I can't wait till next year and the years that follow to watch some of these girls play basketball together in high school.

Popee came to watch a lot of Phoebe's game this season. Uncle Dale came to watch Phoebe play too.
Phoebe took an elbow to her eye at practice early in the season, giving her a black/purple/green eye for a couple weeks. Ouch!
Lindsee came to watch a few games throughout the season. We love having her there with us too.
Below, Phoebe's team got the (W) win, 26 - 14, on her birthday! After the game she posed for birthday pictures with two of her friends, Shawna and Haylee, and for one with Sarah, Popee, and I.
At the last home game of her season, she had a big cheering section, left to right, below, Nayte, Silas, Stacee, Phoebe, Popee, Sarah, Hannah, Brynlee, Jax, Eric, Noah, and Jason.
The last games of the season were played at a tournament in Augusta, Lindsee, Popee, Will, and EP were able to come to that and cheer with us for Phoebe and her team.
Phoebe was awarded the "Raging Rebounder" award at the end-of-season celebration.
