Every year since Sarah was born, I take a Father's Day picture. I hadn't planned on doing this, but on a whim in May 2005, when Sarah was only a couple months old, I made up a little "Happy 1st Father's Day" sign and took her picture with it. It turned out cute and Eric loved it. The next year I truthfully hadn't even thought to do it again until my Mom suggested it. So, I quickly used a black sharpie and some cardboard, and I made a "Happy 2nd Father's Day" sign and took a picture of Sarah smiling really big holding the sign. The rest is history as they say.... One year, (year 10) we forgot to make a sign, so I had to use some of my photoshop/editing skills and add in the words, "Happy 10th Father's Day", on a picture from around Father's Day. When we added a second, and a third, kid, taking the picture with them holding the sign, smiling, looking in the right direction, became a lot more difficult for me. But we managed and it has become a tradition that Eric looks forward to each year. Our pictures from each year are in a collage frame hanging in our basement. As the collection of Father's Day pictures grows, it sure is fun to look back on and see how the kids have grown and changed and how each sign that we had created is different.
How it all started........
And, how it is going now..... HAPPY 18th FATHER'S DAY!
