May Schoolwork

The fifth grade came into the Kindergarten classrooms to read them stories that they had written and drawn out.... Then they left the books/costumes for the teachers to give out as rewards.  Sarah won one of them.  The story was titled "At The Zoo".         1.  One, two, furry shoes...
2. three, four, monkey snore        3. Five, Six... monkey tricks
4. Seven, eight, monkeys date        5. Nine, ten, monkey Friend
Then when you open the book completely up, it turns into this monkey costume!  WaLa!
Here is the back of the costume, with all the pages on it, before folding it back up into a book....
Sarah had a great school year.  She learned so many things and had a good time.  We are very happy with how well she did.  She is such a smart, beautiful, kind girl.
Sarah got to go on an all school field trip on the"official last day of Kindergarten".  All the grade levels and teachers brought their lunches and loaded the buses that morning for a trip to the Sedgwick County Zoo.  They stayed all day long, having fun together and looking at the animals.  Sarah was excited to get to take her lunch with her.  When I picked her up that afternoon she told me she especially like watching the baby and mommy monkeys that day.  The monkeys were swinging on ropes, playing, and screaming (monkey screams) at each other.  Below is a picture of Sarah and her teacher that morning before  they headed to the zoo.
Sarah's last day of Kindergarten was last Wednesday.  Wednesday was actually optional for the Kindergarten, but if they came they got to participate in the school wide talent show.  They had been preparing a little Goldilocks and the Three Bears song and skit.  It turned out pretty cute.  In the pictures below Sarah is the third bear in from the left.  She got to stand next to her friend Maria, who Sarah told me just that morning, was one of her best friends.
Last day of Kindergarten...
School's out for Summer!

9 Months Old

Silas is 9 months!  He crawls all over the house very fast.  He also pulls up on furniture and hangs on walking around it.  He jabbers, "dadadada, and bababa, aaaa, and dadada-de".  He likes to smile, throw toys and balls, and drools all the time!  He has three teeth on the bottom, and the top two front teeth are starting to come in too.  Silas loves to eat.  He likes all of the baby foods we have given him except the meats.

9 month doctor appointment stats:
Weight 18 lbs 5 oz 12th percentile ~  Height 28 1/2 inches 55th percentile
The Doctor called him a "Little Peanut".  Daddy is still calling him his "Big Big Boy".
What a great big blessing you are to us, sweet baby boy!

Roller Skating

Sarah's school had a skating party this week.  Eric had a previous commitment, so I got some skating help from my wonderful cousins.  Johannah, Jessica, and her husband Andrew.  They were able to meet me at the skating rink and we all took turns skating with the girls and holding Silas.
Both girls did great skating.  (This was only their second time to go skating.)  Phoebe wore the shoe skates and Sarah the regular roller skates.  Jess and Johannah chose roller blades.
Andrew had never been skating in an indoor rink before.  He did great and was a huge help to Sarah!
By the end of the evening, both girls were doing really well.  Sarah especially, had improved so much.  She was skating for longer periods of time away from the wall without falling and was skating faster.
Thank you Johannah, Jess, and Andrew!  It was a fun evening.

Weekend Pictures

Here are a few pictures from last weekend.  The weather was great!  We enjoyed playing outside in the back and front yard, Sarah rode her bike a lot, we went to an outdoor market, worked in the yard some, and the girls got to go frog catching with Eric.
The girls had some batting practice in the backyard with Daddy...
Sarah did some jumping "tricks" off of the swing set... She called this one the "Helicopter" because she tried to spin around when she jumped off.  (P.S. No one got hurt while doing these jumping "tricks".)
Silas and I did not go on the frog catching adventure... So, we missed out on seeing and holding this big long snake skin....
And getting to see, touch, and hold little Striper Frogs and these gigantic frogs... darn.
I sure do love these little smiles on my favorite girls!
Happy Mother's Day to me!  Thank you God for these precious gifts you gave to Eric and I.  We are so thankful for them.
