Spring Break 2017 - Q & A

What were your favorite things about visiting family in Texas over Spring Break?
Sarah:  "Going to the park and seeing Grandma"
Phoebe:  "Seeing Grandma and eating the cupcakes for Marc's birthday"
Silas:  "playing at the park and riding in Bret's car.  I brought a toy in Bret's car and Ayden had a ball and we passed it back and forth.  I left my toy, Wolfie, in Bret's car and forgot him, and Aunt Andrea just mailed him back."

Who are your favorite basketball teams?

Sarah:  "The Golden State Warriors and K-State"

Phoebe:  "K-State"

Silas:  "K-State"

What are your favorite kinds of milkshakes?
Sarah:  "Caramel and toffee"
Phoebe:  "peanut butter and chocolate ones"
Silas:  "peanut butter fudge from Sonic"

When we go on a trip and you have to ride in the car for a long time, what do you like to do in the car so that you don't get bored?
Sarah:  "Watch movies and read and look out the window."
Phoebe:  "Watch movies, play with my stuffed animals, and read sometimes."
Silas:  "watch movies and play with the sisters if they bring toys or if I bring some"

It was Uncle Marc's birthday while we were in Texas visiting him.  How old did he turn on his birthday?
Sarah: "33...34.  I don't know.  34?"
Phoebe:  "34"
Silas:  "47"
What is your favorite thing about Uncle Marc?
Sarah:  "He's fun to play with.  He's funny.  And, he is fun to be around."
Phoebe:  "He's funny."
Silas:  "playing games with him and eating pupcakes (cupcakes)"

If you could pick only two animals to have for pets in the future what would they be?
Sarah:  "dogs and goats"
Phoebe:  "chickens and dogs"
Silas:  "cats and dogs"

We played a lot of Pig Pong at Popee and Nanee's house over Spring Break.  Who would you pick to be on your team in a Pig Pong tournament and why?
Sarah:  "I would pick Silas because he follows my rules and Mommy gets mad at me when I do something wrong on her team, and Phoebe doesn't think I am a good teammate."
Phoebe:  "Mommy because she is the best Pig Pong player.  She knows a lot of things about how to do Pig Pong."
Silas:  "Uncle Marc, because he is strong.  Because he is a grown-up."

What was your favorite part of the new Disney movie, Beauty and The Beast?

Sarah:  "I liked it when Beauty and the Beast danced and Mrs. Potts sung that song."

Phoebe:  "When the Beast and the dishes turned back into people."

Silas:  "When Beast was walking the horse, and Beauty looked out of the window and smiled, and they were nice friends."

Were there any scary parts of the movie?

Sarah:  "When the Beast got shot and when Beauty and the Beast went back in time....that was scary and sad."

Phoebe:  "When Gaston shot the Beast and when Gaston punched Belle's dad."

Silas:  "The part where that furniture turns to antiques and when the Beast got shot."

About how many leaves do you think we raked and picked up over Spring Break at Popee and Nanee's house?

Sarah:  "5 billion"

Phoebe:  "800"

Silas:  "101"

How many times did you go to the dump with Popee?  What was it like there?
Sarah:  "zero"
Phoebe:  "Two times.  It was stinky.  I helped Popee dump all the leaves out."
Silas:  "Three times.  It was smelly and dirty and yucky cause bugs poop there, even worms, cause they eat leaves and then they poop there and it makes it really smelly and yucky there.  And, you can't see it and you walk in it with your shoes.  That's why I had my bad shoes on."

What are some things you like about going to Popee and Nanee's house?

Sarah:  "It is fun there.  You get to see Popee and Nanee.  They have a fun bathtub.  They have good hiding spots there to play hide and seek.  They have a lot of yard we can play in, and we get to go swimming."

Phoebe:  "We get to take baths in that cool bathtub.  I like to play on their play equipment out back."

Silas:  "Riding on the Nanee thing now...that thing that if her legs are resting she can go on that thing.  And, I like playing games with Nanee.  I like to ride my new bike outside at their house."

Do you like to go fishing?  Why or why not?
Sarah:  "Yes.  It is fun when you get a fish on your hook and you get to reel it in.  And it is fun hanging out with family who are going fishing with you."
Phoebe:  "No because I got hooked one time on the foot.  We were at Ernie and Judy's lake.  I do like to fish with an adult helping me."
Silas:  "YES!  Because I catch a lot of fish and sometimes we cook them for dinner and we have that sauce we dip the meat in.  I like to see what kind of fish I catch."

What kind of fish to you like to catch?
Sarah:  "Bass and Perch"
Phoebe:  "any kind"
Silas:  "Whopper, Catfish, and Bass, and Crappie"

Do you have any favorite fishing holes?
Sarah:  "At Taylor's house and Grandma Great's, and Ernie and Judy's house."
Phoebe:  "Taylor's and Grandma Great's"
Silas:  "Grandma Great's pond and Taylor's house.  I like to see the fish at Cabela's."

What are some of your favorite things about getting to go and visit Grandma Great?

Sarah:  "She has good hiding places downstairs for hide and seek.  We get to fish and catch whoppers.  I like to go to the park across from her house and pet her cat."

Phoebe:  "Play hide and seek downstairs."

Silas:  "Go fishing and play with Mike - hide and seek."

How was the Lady Shockers Softball game we went to over Spring Break?
Sarah:  "Good.  The softball pitcher threw strikes.  She threw good pitches.  They hit pop flies and the other team got a pop fly over the fence and got a homerun.  It was so cold outside that day."
Phoebe:  "The game was good."
Silas:  "It was good."
What did you learn or enjoy most about watching the softball players and teams?
Sarah:  "They all had to work together.  I liked it when the pitcher threw the ball to the catcher and the catcher caught it."
Phoebe:  "I liked the people on the team cheering for each other."
Silas:  "Getting home runs.  One girl got a home run."
