Our first Christmas in our new old farmhouse...
The stockings were hung by the chimney with care, in hopes that St. Nicholas soon would be there.
Eric and I woke up first Christmas morning. We waited for the kids to wake up...finally I got out of bed to see if any of them were awake. The only one awake was Phoebe. I told her she could get up if she wanted to and that maybe she should wake her brother and sister up because it was Christmas morning. She got right out of bed and woke them up. Silas wanted to put his clothes on and Eric went on downstairs to get our video camera set up. Of course I made them pose for a picture before heading down to look in their stockings
Phoebe had mints, the Despicable Me 3 dvd, Legos, a Junie B. Jones book, lotion, Jelly Bellies, and a Miss Priss Duck Call in her stocking.
Sarah got mints, Jelly Bellies, Legos, a book, lotion, scripture notecards, the Chipmunks Road Chip dvd, and the Miss Priss duck call in her stocking.
Silas had Legos, the Trolls dvd, Jelly Bellies, Tic Tacs, the Wal-Mart hauler truck, a book, and the Uncle Si duck call in his stocking.
On birthdays and Christmas Eric always runs the video camera.
Next up, were our presents to each other.
Phoebe got an American Girl dog, doll outfit, books, new undies, feety pajamas, a Bible, and a Lego set from Eric and I.
Sarah got an American Girl cat, doll outfit, new undies and socks, WSU shirt, books, and a Lego set from Eric and I.
Silas gave Eric and I this hand print that he made at school. Although I have read the poem before that he gave us with the handprint, this time while reading it along with seeing his handprint frozen in time, and his eyes watching me...I may have gotten choked up and let a few tears slide. (Please stop growing up so quickly, Hendrickson kids.)
Phoebe gave Silas some new Crasher cars and Silas gave her a fishing boat Lego set.
One of our gifts from Phoebe was this cool ornament that she made at school.
Sarah made us a coaster with snowflakes and a dog drawn on it.
Sarah gave Silas a box of Classic Legos. Silas gave Sarah a Surf Shop Lego set.
Phoebe game Sarah the boating and water skiing Lego set. Sarah gave Phoebe the Cinderella's Carriage and Cottage Lego set.
Silas got books, Disney cars and trucks, the Trolls soundtrack on cd, undies, pajamas, and Construction Junior Lego set from Eric and I.
It was the year for Legos at our house.
It was a fun Christmas morning.
Eric gave some duck call lessons to the kids...
Look out ducks. We're getting ready for you.
That afternoon, we had a nice Christmas dinner with Earnest Alexander and some of the staff and boys from the Youth Horizons Boy's Ranch. We got to be a part of Hutton Construction's 25th day of giving as we got to help bless the Boy's Ranch with a gift from Hutton Construction.
The rest of the day was spent playing with new toys and working around the house.
