Our Christmas Eve and Christmas day were lovely. We had some great quality time together. I love almost everything about Christmas, the lights, the decorations, the treats, the music (that I usually start listening to in October), the gifts and cards exchanged, the church services, and time spent gathering with family. I look forward to this time of the year every year and when it is over I can't help but feel a little sad each year.
Santa filled our stockings with candy, snacks, music, socks, perfume/cologne and some movies.
Below, Christmas morning, before opening our gifts to and from each other...
Phoebe gave Sarah a cute ornament that she painted herself for her and the Mariah Carey Christmas CD.
Silas gave Phoebe a book and a little sloth stuffed animal. He gave Sarah some new leggings.
Sarah gave Phoebe a jewelry holder.
Phoebe gave me these yummy chocolates.
We all got several nice things from each other...clothes, games, DVD's, and other fun things.
Silas gave Eric a Chiefs speaker.
The kids each got a fun gift and a gift card from Uncle EP, Aunt Lindsee, and Will... Maurices for Sarah, Michael's for Phoebe, and Cabela's for Silas.
After opening our gifts inside, Eric made a big deal about wanting to try out his new gift from me...a new chainsaw! And, he would need the kids and my help to pick up the branches and logs that he was sawing up. Even though he really did want to try it out, it was a trick to get the kids all outside to see their final BIG gift... A two-seater Go-Kart! They were grumpy and did not want to go help pick up branches so his little plan to get them outside and trick them a little worked out perfectly. When he opened the garage Silas and Phoebe saw the gift first! They couldn't believe their eyes. Silas had to get grumpy Sarah to look in the garage too, and when she did she was EXCITED too.
Eric pushed it out and the kids, Eric, and I all took turns for a couple hours that Christmas afternoon driving and riding all around our land.
Merry Christmas to all!
