Phoebe Basketball Season

I am writing this blog in February and the season was over a month ago so I apologize for the lack of details.

I coached the 5th/6th grade girls again this year with Coach Kris and Coach Steve.  It was our last year of coaching together.
Front Row Left to Right: Shawna, Chloe, Grace
Middle Row Left to Right: Cadence, Macy
Back Row Left to Right: Coach Eric, Rayna, Phoebe, Haylee, Coach Kris (Steve was missing due to Covid)

Game #1 vs. Haysville
We started out the year against another Haysville team.  We didn't play our best but won easily.  Believe it was 20-8.
Game #2 vs. Haysville
Phoebe did the jump ball.
This was the best team we played this year and the best in the league.  We were competitive but lost by about 10 (around 25-15)
Game #3 vs. Haysville
This was a good game to rebound from a loss.  We won easily (around 20-2)
Game #4 vs. Clearwater
Clearwater was a pretty good team.  We won by a basket - 15-13.
That is a pretty good looking jump shot, Phoebe.
Game #5 vs. Mulvane
I don't know if we can call this a basketball game.  It was more like a football game with baskets.
The other team was ultra aggressive and didn't get near the amount of fouls called against them that should have been.  We played really hard and should have won the game.  Unfortunately, we lost by a basket, 13-11.
- Last Practice and Play the Parents Game -
The kids played the parents and won by 2.  There were a lot of complaints by the parents against the ref (the tall guy in the orange shirt)
Game #6 vs. Clearwater
Clearwater was another skilled team.  We played well enough to win another close one.
I thought we had a good season.  We went 4-2 and all the girls contributed.  I think some of these 6th grade girls will make the middle school teams next year if they try-out, including Phoebe.
