We took a quick picture with Sarah after one of her basketball games in January.
My family got together at our house to celebrate Christmas and exchange gifts in January. We all went to Sarah's basketball game, then we came back to the house and ate dinner together.
After dinner, we opened gifts.
There were a LOT of nice gifts given. But, the best and most funny gifts were the MUGS this year.
Sarah painted the beautiful picture below for Popee.
And, she painted the two pictures below for EP and Lindsee.
Everyone got at least one new mug for Christmas. As another mug would get opened we all laughed and joked.
Belle even got a funny picture from Popee... "Dear Santa, it was the cat."
Will finally got his birthday gift from us too!
Below, our new MUG pictures! Show them off. The year of the mugs. Mugs for days. Cotton-Headed-Ninny-MUGgins.
Silas had some great basketball fans at one of his basketball games in January.
Silas and Will did a hilarious facetime phone call that I got a funny screenshot of while they were talking.
Phoebe's choir got to sing the National Anthem at a Thunder hockey game one Friday evening. They sounded AMAZING! Then they all stayed to watch the game together. Families got to go out on the ice after the game for pictures.
Popee came to town one day for the Grandparents Lunch at Silas's school. Popee brought a special lunch of pizza and cookies for them to share.
After Silas's last basketball game of the season, the team posed for a team picture. They had an undefeated season. Great job coaches and boys!
The Hastings family got together in mid-January to celebrate Christmas. We ate lots of different kinds of soups and desserts, played some card games and carroms, watched some basketball and football games on t.v., and did a funny number gift exchange game that my Dad organized. We had nice time visiting and laughing with each other that day.
Silas was selected, along with 11 other students, from his school to sing at the monthly Board Of Education meeting in January. They sang a song called "We Appreciate You".
Phoebe still is a great helper with our chickens. We added the three chicks to our flock a couple months ago. They all have adjusted well and have grown into nice looking chickens.
Silas had hand surgery on Friday, January 27th. He had a couple spots in his left hand and one finger where there was only cartilage instead of where bone should have been. We made the decision after talking with the pediatric orthopedic surgeon that it would be better to fix this now instead of waiting until he finished growing. So, all the cartilage that was not supposed to be there was scraped out and cadaver bone was placed back in these spots. It was a pretty intense surgery and his hand had some trauma (bruising and lots of swelling). He is doing well and started PT right away to help with the healing and getting motion back in the left hand and finger. **Update** Most recently, (as of yesterday 2/8), the big incision on his finger has gotten infected. We are treating him with an antibiotic and keeping a close eye on it and will return to the doctor in a week.
