We took a little trip to Branson in mid October. We met Dad, Lindsee, EP, and Will there. We had tickets to an Oak Ridge Boys concert for one evening, and spent two days at Silver Dollar City. Silver Dollar City was right in the middle of the "Pumpkins In The City" festival and "Pumpkin Nights" celebration - so there were tons of pumpkins and jack-o-lanterns to see. The weather was perfect. At Silver Dollar City we rode a lot of rides, watched several shows, and had a great time together.
Below, riding the Flooded Mine Ride.... Look out bad guys!
The kids convinced Popee to ride the carousel with them!
Several fast roller coasters were ridden in the day light and in the darkness.
A must see, every time we go to SDC is the Saloon Show. Lots of laughs. Every. Single. Time.
The giant Barn Swing is always Eric's favorite ride.
Some of us waited in, what we thought was going to be a short line, to ride the big roller coaster "Time Traveler". It really would have been a lot shorter of a wait if one million people wouldn't have been in the "fast pass" line. We were all a little annoyed.
Below on the right, I got my picture with my favorite singer (Brandon), in one of our favorite singing groups at SDC...SPOKEN 4 Quartet. He has the most amazing tenor voice! If you are ever at SDC, don't miss hearing this group sing! Here is a direct link to their website to find out more about these four amazing men and their music... CLICK HERE ~ SPOKEN 4 quartet
Two water rides were running while we were there, the American Plunge and Mystic River Falls. Some of us were crazy enough to ride them....more than once. BRRRRR!
Dad participated in the Opening Ceremony along with other Veterans one morning while we were there.
The six members of our group below, that rode the roller coaster Wildfire, were delayed getting onto this ride. The crew/workers had to clean up a "spill" from riders before them.... "SPILL" = BARF
Will, Phoebe, and Silas were in line together to ride the little roller coaster. When it was their turn to get on, Phoebe and Silas went to the back of the coaster cars and Will went for the very front seat of the coaster cars. As you can see by his face in the three pictures below, he may have regretted his choice and his whole decision to ride this coaster.....
The Oak Ridge Boys concert was fantastic, as usual! They are on their farewell tour so if you want to see them before they aren't touring anymore, get your tickets soon. (I heard they will be performing in September 2024 at the Kansas State Fair.)
