Phoebe tried out and made the freshmen high school volleyball team in August. She emerged as one of the best all around players on the freshmen team and was moved up to the JV team mid-way through the season. Phoebe is a consistent player, not afraid to go after a crazy hit, serves well, and has learned to play the net and hit hard. She is also a great teammate, looks for the good in everyone, no nonsense, and leads by example. What a girl! She especially enjoyed getting to play on the same team (finally) with her cousin and friend, Ana.
The freshmen team started rough but quickly learned to play together and support each other.
Popee was able to come to several of Phoebe's games throughout the season. He is a Hendrickson kid (Phoebe, Sarah, and Silas) SUPER-DUPER FAN!
Below, some of the freshmen team - Brylie, Rayna, Ana, Phoebe, Shawna, and Haleigh.
The girls played in an all-day tournament in Goddard. They played well together and were intense. They were able to win 3rd place overall! It was in exciting day and final win.
Upon winning third place, the excitement could hardly be contained by the Coach and players!
Below, the whole freshmen team.
Above, and below, Phoebe playing and cheering with the JV team at one of the JV tournaments.
Mrs. Leeper was able to come and watch a couple of both Phoebe and Sarah's games this season.
A highlight for both Phoebe and Sarah this season was when Phoebe was moved up to JV and she got to start riding the bus with the JV and varsity teams which meant fun sister times.
The girls all rode on a volleyball trailer in the Homecoming Parade. They threw candy all along the route.
In October, the freshmen, JV, and varsity teams all wore pink jerseys to raise awareness for Breast Cancer.
Lindsee, Will, and Popee got to come to one of the games in Andover.
Phoebe and her friend, Hayley, have been playing volleyball together for six years.
Senior Night was fun and again another sister moment when Phoebe got to present Sarah with her "Senior Gifts". Phoebe got to be coached by one of Sarah's favorites, Coach Brown, when she was moved up to JV
Below, FOUR COUSINS. That's right, it's a great day when your moms realize the family connection and your family grows, realizing you have some more pretty great cousins and friends.
