We had a good Christmas morning together as a family. We woke and came downstairs about 8:00 am. I had the kids and the dogs pose by the tree for a picture. We looked in our stockings. Eric read us the Christmas story from his Bible. We opened gifts from each other and ate a breakfast casserole I had prepared the night before. It was a relaxing morning. Lots of nice gifts were given and received.Sarah painted pictures for three of us. For Phoebe, the Grinch, of course! For Silas, a snowman. For me a Christmas donkey. For Eric, she drew her Bible verse pictures, like she has done for years for him. Each year she picks 4-6 Bible verses and draws a picture that goes with each one. Then we have them laminated. Each year Eric adds this to his Bible verse book from Sarah. It is a cool gift and as the collection grows it is fun to look back through and she how her drawings have improved and which verses she picked.
This year, Silas started a small ceramic Christmas Village collection on his bookshelf in his bedroom. It looked so good. He spent a LOT of time setting it up and we all liked looking at it when we were in his bedroom. Eric and I gave him the Christmas Petshop to add to his village next Christmas.
Above, Phoebe gave Sarah some colored sweatpants. Below, Sarah and Eric with her Bible verse pages.
Silas gave Phoebe a cute little Grinch bag and chocolate covered pretzels.
Silas got me the movie "Sight". Phoebe crocheted me several really nice things...some wonderful new hot pads, a NOEL hanging decoration, and a three stars decoration.
