Our March 2026

At the beginning of the year (2026) Phoebe decided that she was going to make/crochet a "Temperature Blanket" this year. A temperature blanket is a crochet or knit project that acts as a visual diary of a year's weather. Each row is created using a specific color corresponding to the temperature - high, low, or average - of a particular location for every day of the year, resulting in a unique, multicolored blanket. Phoebe made a plan, selected yarn, and got started. So far, the blanket looks great!
Our church held a 5-day long Revival from March 1-5. There were guest pastors that came each night to preach and lead. One evening in particular the music and singing were especially good. The worship was right on and it seemed like the Holy Spirt was there with us all. Silas was asked to come onto the stage (unplanned and unexpected) to sing "Wreckless Love". He did amazing! I love listening to him sing. He has a powerful voice and is so musically gifted. Thank you, God, for blessing him with this gift!
I went to Manhattan on Sarah's birthday. She had a few hours in between her class and work, so I picked her up on Campus and we did a little shopping, ate lunch at Vista, and visited the Cat's Cupboard before I dropped her off at work early that afternoon.
Eric and Silas attended the annual Men's Retreat March 6 and 7. They look forward to this every year. Lots of other men and boys from our church go each year as well.
Eric and I got to go see one of our FAVORITE singing groups on March 8th. Spoken 4 was performing at the Prairie Rose Chuckwagon in Benton, KS. It was fun to hear them and sing-along with some of their songs. They all have good voices but their tenor Brandon Britton has one of the MOST AMAZING tenor voices that I have ever heard in my life. (I am a big fan.)
Phoebe was selected and inducted into the National Honor Society. She is so intelligent and works so very hard in all the things she does for school and community. She is kind and a wonderful - steady leader to her classmates, teammates, and peers.
Sarah and Owen had their engagement pictures taken. They went out to Tuttle Creek and got some great shots. They sent me the selfie below.
We had some beautiful daffodils blooming in our yard this month.
Phoebe worked hard to crochet these strawberry themed items for Sarah for her birthday. (strawberry potholder and a strawberry pocket coin purse)
Silas's choir, the Silverbacks, sang at the Music Festival at Newman University. They received all 1 ratings.
Sarah came home for Spring Break. She finally got to open her birthday gifts from us and Popee.
We had some appointments to look for and try on wedding dresses on Friday, March 13th. We started at Brick and Bustle downtown. She tried on 5-6 dresses and found the "ONE". It was fun for us there with her - myself, Phoebe, Lindsee, and Natasha. After picking out her wedding dress, we went to dinner, then to David's Bridal to look at Mother-of-the-bride and Mother-of-the groom dresses and Bridesmaid dresses.
Sarah caught this funny picture of our dog, Ray, with her tongue hanging out like a weirdo.
We took a short Spring Break trip to Oklahoma and Arkansas. We had some fun with friends at their cabin in Oklahoma and then spent some time with my Uncle Ernie at his home in Arkansas. It was a nice family get-away.
Sarah and I went to the new movie "Reminders of Him" at the theater. It was a super good movie!
Natasha and I went Tux/suit shopping with Owen and Sarah.
Then we met Sarsh's bridesmaid's at David's Bridal for dress fitting and purchasing.
After tux and dress shopping we all went out to eat together at Applebee's. Pictured, left to right, Lily, Phoebe, Jax, Stacee, Owen S., Silas, Eric, Sarah, and Owen P.
After eating dinner and Applebee's we came home and had some ice cream cake for Sarah's birthday dessert.
Eric and I took some Spring flowers down to put on Mom's grave. She loved Iris and Pansies. This will never get easier. My heart aches with every thought of the things she is missing here. I miss her so much.
Phoebe's basketball team had a recognition dinner on Tuesday, March 24th.
Phoebe had three ceramic pieces, that she made, selected to be displayed in our District Art Fair. She has loved this Ceramics class and has enrolled to be in Ceramics 2 next year.
Eric and I were asked to attend the Heartsprings Gala representing Hutton. Hutton was a Gold Sponsor this year and had a table for 10. It was a fun evening with a Rouge theme. The food was great! There was also entertainment, a silent and live auction, and a live band and dance. Almost one million dollars was raised that night for Heartsprings! AMAZING!
