Sarah participated in a cheerleading group this fall. They met 6 times for about 45 minutes each time. The class was taught some basic cheerleading stretches, jumps, cartwheels and rolls, and cheers with and without pom-poms. Sarah already knew how to do cartwheels and one-handed cartwheels, so the teacher tried to teach her how to do a front flip. (She can almost do it!) At the final session parents could stay to watch a short performance of skills the girls had learned and each girl got to take home their set of pom-poms.
One cheer that Sarah learned was "Got to go to fight, got to fight to win, GO FIGHT WIN!"
Another cheer she learned was "Give me a V. Dot that i. Curve that c, t - o - r - y. Oh, victory! *Clap Clap Clap Clap* Oh, VICTORY! *Clap Clap Clap Clap*"
I think Sarah enjoyed the gymnastics part of this class the most. She likes to do cartwheels and has been practicing her front flip and hand-stand skills in our basement A LOT! I am sure she will have them both down within the next month or so!
