Fun Filled Days At Popee And Nanee's House

The kids and I headed to my parents house (Popee and Nanee) on August 15th and stayed until the 20th.  Sarah had made a list of things that they all wanted to do while we were there, and we just about got everything checked off of the list... We were busy, and had lots of FUN!
Day One - Monday
Sarah ~ When we got to Emporia, that evening, Mommy and I went with Popee, John, and Jeline to do Hedgeapple picking.  I shook some off the trees.  Then we put the good ones in a bucket and people use them for keeping away spiders.
Day Two - Tuesday
Sarah ~ On Tuesday morning, me and Popee went into his workshop and I helped him build a paint holder.  I got to use the Drill Press.  I liked using it.  Then I had to vacuum up the sawdust.  Then Popee and I started to paint my crafts.
Silas ~ We got to do water guns.  I got to do my new ones from Dan and Debbie.  I squirted Phoebe.  Phoebe and me had a fight with the long water guns.  That was so funny.
Sarah ~ Popee has a cat named Jerry.  He is a nice cat.  He really likes to rub against things.  He sometimes goes a little crazy when he is getting pet.  He just likes it so much.  I got to pet him a lot, play with him, and help feed him while we were there.
Phoebe ~ My tooth was very wiggly.  Mommy pulled my tooth out on Tuesday night right before bedtime.  I didn't cry.  Nanee gave me a container to put my tooth in.
Day Three - Wednesday
Sarah ~ First thing Wednesday morning, Popee came downstairs to see if we were awake.  He saw somebody through the window and thought it was kids playing.  It wasn't.  It was a bunch of cowboys trying to get their Steer back.  It had escaped from the Sale Barn, and ran all the way down the street, about 9 blocks into Popee and Nanee's front yard.  We went out in the yard to watch them try to load the Steer into the trailer.  They roped him and pulled on the ropes to try to get him up.  Then he finally got up and they got him into the trailer.
Phoebe ~ We went to the zoo.  They have a new Lemur exhibit.  There was two baby Lemurs.  We saw lots of other animals at the zoo.
Silas ~ We went to the candy place to get some candy.  (The Sweet Granada)  There was a lot of candy choices.  I picked the white chocolate M&M bark.  It was good.  Sarah can't eat chocolate.  She picked candy blocks.  They looked like Legos.

Sarah ~ I got a tie dye kit for my birthday one year.  We took it to Popee and Nanee's and Mommy bought us all white shirts to decorate.  I helped Mommy band one of mine like a cinnamon roll.  When we put the dye on we had to wear gloves because we didn't want the dye to get on our hands.  All the tie dye shirts turned out good.
Phoebe ~ Silas and I helped pick the garden.  We picked a lot of tomatoes.  Popee has a lot of things growing in his garden.  I saw squash and cabbage.

Sarah ~ We helped Popee make homemade ice cream.  Phoebe and I helped put in ice and Popee put in the salt.  The ice and salt make the ice cream freeze.  When it was done we had to get the paddles out.  Me, Phoebe and Silas got to taste it off the paddles.  It tasted really good.  Uncle Matt came over to eat homemade ice cream with us.
Silas ~ Sarah and I rode the little train together and then I rode in a seat with Popee.  It went slow.  In the tunnels we all screamed because the conductor said.  I screamed the hardest.
Day Four - Thursday
Phoebe ~ We got to go get Snow Cones one night.  My kind was blueberry.  Sarah's was coconut and vanilla.  Silas's was root beer.  They were good!
Day Five - Friday
Sarah ~ We got to go swimming at Mommy's friend's house.  I practiced my diving.  We also played keep away with a ball.  Mommy and I were a team, and Silas, Phoebe, and Popee were on a team.  Popee thinks his team is the keep away champions.
Silas ~ Popee made me a Treasure Box.  I like it.  I put Arrowheads, a rock, and shells in it.

Sarah ~ On Friday night we went to visit Grandma Great.  We were going to fish in her pond but it started to rain.  Instead we were inside and Grandma played the piano for all of us.
Day Six - Saturday
We went fishing at our friend's Mitch, Karen, and Taylor's house on Saturday morning.  They have a pond with a lot of big fish in it.  It is always a lot of fun to catch and release fish there!  Thanks for letting us all come out and enjoy part of our day with you Mitch, Karen, and Taylor!
Silas ~ I have a new fishing pole from Mike and Grandma Great.  I got to use it.  It worked good.  I caught lots of fish.  We used worms for bait.
Sarah ~ It took me awhile to catch a fish.  I only caught one Perch.  Daddy took it off the hook for me.  Popee baited my hook.
Phoebe ~ I sat by Nanee for awhile when we got there.  Then I got up and fished for a little bit.  I caught three fish in a row.  They were all Perch.  The first one was little.  Then I caught two big ones!  Popee helped me.
Sarah ~ I found this crawdad walking on the land.  It was not close to the pond.  Daddy picked it up and saw that it had kids on it.  He put it by the rocks on the water.  Daddy and I had never seen this before.  It was really cool.  I am not sure how the kids stick on to the Mommy...???
