We had Silas's 4th birthday party on August 7th. He wanted to have a superhero party and a Batman cake. Popee made the cake and I made some extra cupcakes to be sure that we would have enough for all of his guests. We also had a fresh fruit salad, cut-up watermelon, chips, and Cheetos for all the guests to eat.
We rented a covered shelter house at a local park. The grown-ups enjoyed visiting, and the kids enjoyed playing on the playground equipment, yard games, basketball, and racing cars on one of Silas's wooden race tracks.
Silas wanted to invite several of his grown-up friends to his party this year. We were thankful that Popee and Nanee, Duane and Melody, John and Jeline, Dan and Debbie, and Charles and Wyonna could all celebrate with us.
Above and below, playing yard games and racing cars....
I made a bunch of superhero masks for the kids to wear at the party and to take home with them if they wanted. Several little girls really liked wearing the masks and liked trying on different colors.
Eric, the girls, and I, made a large Captain America shield for the party. We used it to play a "put the star on the shield" game. We wrote each child's name on a star and gave them each a chance to put their star on the center of the shield.
There were even a few grown-ups who played too!
The last contestant, Honest Abe Popee told us he could see through the bandanna! I wonder if they all could see through it?
Happy 4th Birthday, Silas!!!!
It was a little windy outside when it was time to light the candles, and I didn't bring a good lighter.... So, we couldn't get the candles to light. Boo-Hoo. Silas was pretty disappointed about it. We told him to pretend to blow out the candles but he wouldn't do it.
Silas had a bunch of little girls attend his party and one little boy. Below you can see him with lots of his "girl" friends waiting to eat.
Silas was really glad that Melody could come to his party. He likes her a lot. He must know how much she loves little boys!
Daddy helped Silas open all of his gifts. He received a lot of nice things from his friends.

Bottom row - left to right, Gavin, Haylee, Baylee, Whitney, and Ella. Not pictured, Abbie.
Silas couldn't wait to get home and open this superhero set from his friends, Abigail and Ella!
As it started to get dark, Silas's birthday party came to an end. Silas and his guests had a great time playing together, and wanted to take "just ONE MORE spin" on this piece of playground equipment.
Thank you to our friends and family who came to Silas's party and helped make it a special time for him!
