~ Eric Hendrickson ~
My family came up from Fort Worth to Kansas for the Thanksgiving holiday.
My bros (Bret and Marc) and I went golfing at Pine Bay Golf Course on Wednesday morning. It was cold so we basically had the course to ourselves.
Nice looking swings
The shots above are from the "Island" hole. We played this hole 3 times and were putting for birdie each time.
It is hard to read the score card. We played 27 holes and shot a -5. We were happy with how we played. I had the shot of the day. On a par 5, we were 200 yards from the hole. I hit a 6 iron that was within 6' of the hole. I then putted in for Eagle. Nice!
The cousins had fun playing in the backyard, and dressing up downstairs.
While mom (Grandma Sharon) was cooking Thanksgiving dinner (cooked on Wednesday and then transported to my Grandmothers for Thursday meal), the kids and wives went to the Disney movie Moana.
Sarah, Stacee, and I were to run in a 5k race in Wichita on Thanksgiving day. Instead, we went to Olpe on Wednesday night to be with my family, and the girls ran in a 5k race in Emporia on Thanksgiving morning. Sarah got second place in her age division.
The boys (Eric, Bret, and Marc) took the kids to the park in Olpe. Silas doesn't like heights so he didn't venture to the top of the climbing ropes.
We had a great Thanksgiving meal at Grandma's (Grandma Greats) house. This was the best tasting Thanksgiving meal that I can recall. Thanks Mom.
Carla and Tony were also there to eat with us.
After dinner, and before the Cowboys game (remember the family lives in Fort Worth), we took the kids for rides in Grandpa's train, which we pulled with the tractor.
Marc spent many an hour on this tractor in his highschool days so he was well trained to take this on the road. He told me that he used to drive this to our house on the lake road which is a few miles away.
Putting the train back into the garage takes some manpower.
Below, Hendrickson cousins, left to right - Kallin (age 3 1/2), Ayden (age 7 1/2), Sarah (age 9 1/2), Silas (age 4), and Phoebe (age 7).
While we watched football on the TV, we put a movie on our small, portable DVD player for the kids.
That afternoon, we sat around the piano and sang Christmas songs.
The kids camped out on the floor next to Marc who was on the couch in Grandma's basement. Good times.
