Phoebe Basketball Games 6 - 10 (Second Half)

**GUEST BLOGGER**
 ~ Eric Hendrickson ~

Game 6 - February 18th - 8:30
We played two games back to back this weekend.
Our girls took a "nice" team photo prior to the game.
and an "intense" photo prior to the game.
Ariana, even though she has a broken finger, decided to play during the first game.  She played well but said she was going to sit the second game.  Our girls won 40 - 20.  Phoebe had 6 points.

Game 7 - February 18th - 9:30
Our next game turned out to be a great game.
After the first few periods we were down by 9 points.  Ariana had sat the first 2 periods and decided she was going to play.

At practice this week we worked on picks and an imbound play we call "Shocker".  Coach Ro and I thought it was one of our worst practices we have ever had in our 3 years of coaching.  Even though we thought it was a bad practice, it was extremely effective.  The girls did a good job at setting picks (we did get called for a few too aggressive picks).  We also ran a perfect "Shocker" and scored on the play.  Very satisfying as a coach to see the girls "getting it".
The game came down to the last possession.  We were up by 1 with 12 seconds left.  The other team drove all the way to the lane and we stole the ball.
Great game Phoebe and Timberwolves.  We won 37 - 36.  Phoebe had 4 points.

Game 8 - February 25th - 9:30
We only had 4 girls this morning.  Haylee is on vacation in Colorado and Delaney just became a sister to her new brother.  Congratulations.
We started out a little slow but played great after the first period.
I had talked with Phoebe before the game about being aggressive.  She did a great job of going after loose balls and rebounds.  I gave her a blue star for effort after the game.
You will see that coach Ro is not on the sidelines.  He was at home with strep throat.  Coach Stacee had to fill in at practice this week because I was out of town and Ro was sick.
We won the game 50-15.  Phoebe had 8 points.  Good job girls.

Game 9 - March 4th - 8:30
We played our second to last game of the season against the team that almost beat us a few games back.  So, we knew going in that this would be our toughest remaining game.
We started off a little slow.
Phoebe was aggressive and went to the free throw line 4 times.  She made 2 of them and the other 2 were good shots.  Good job Phoebe!
I saw that when Phoebe shot her freethrows that she thought about how to shoot them with the proper form.  Good job.
Phoebe and Haylee's school teacher came to watch the game as did Aunt Wyonna.
Our girls won 44 - 24.  Phoebe had 4 points.

Last Practice - March 9th
For our last practice, we had the parents scrimmage the girls.  Coach Ro and I had some fun dunking on the 9' goal.
We all enjoyed pizza and cupcakes.

Game 10 - March 11th - 9:30
Our last game.  We win and Coach Ro and I will have our second (in a row) undefeated season.
Roach Ro allowed Silas to be announced as an honorary coach and to sit with us on our bench.  We had to send him back to Stacee when he got so excited that he stepped onto the court and dribbled a live ball.
The other team was much improved from the last time we played them.
Although the other team was better, we were still dominant.  We won the game 54-14.  Phoebe had 8 points.

Awards Ceremony - Sunday, March 12th
There was an award ceremony the day after the last game where each team went up front to be recognized and given a gift.
Each girl received an Upward bag.
Congratulations girls on an undefeated season.  Hope to have you on our team next year.
