Stuff In October and November

The fall Book Fair was held at Phoebe and Silas's school.  That means PTO helps coordinate this event and puts on a Pastries with Parents event at the same time.  Phoebe and Silas have to go early with me on these mornings.  They are usually good helpers to me while there and sometimes can be caught sitting and reading books together.
Traci's birthday was in mid-October.  She choose for our families to all go play BINGO together at the local annual Fall Festival.  We brought snacks and daubers and set out to win... or at least have lots of fun together.
Sharon and Marc were visiting us that weekend so they came along to enjoy some BINGO fun too.
None of us ever BINGOd that night.  Unbelievable.  But we did have fun and shared lots of laughs.  Happy Birthday, Traci!
Grandma and Marc got to see Sarah play volleyball in one regular season game and in the end of the season A team tournament while they were here.
Grandma Sharon also took all the girls to get pedicures and manicures.  We talked Eric into sitting in one of the massage chairs for about 5 minutes, just to try it out.
Thanks Grandma Sharon!
Kohl's stores have these giant stuffed Sloths out for the holiday season.  Weird, but a funny photo opp.
At our old house Eric was somewhat of a good Mole trapper.  They would make him so mad when they would tear up his yard that he worked so hard on.  So at our new house we have had a few that have been popping up and causing a little havoc in our yard and he is starting to go after them again here.  (Don't look below if you are a little squeamish at dead animals.)  He got one!  This is just the beginning.  I think there are at least 56 more to go.  Our dog is even getting in on the fun.  She managed to get one a few weeks later.
Popee went to a Halloween costume store with us to look at some costumes.  The kids talked him into trying on this Gru mask.
I was substitute teaching the week of Halloween in third grade.  The third grade teachers had planned to dress as trolls, so as you can see in the picture below, I made some troll hair too and joined the fun.
After school on Halloween Sarah had volleyball practice so she missed trick-or-treating at Hutton this year.  I took Silas and Phoebe though.
Phoebe dressed as a K-State cheerleader for Halloween this year.
Silas was Duke Kaboom from Disney's Toy Story 4.
And, Sarah was a Ref.
We went to our church's annual dinner and truck-or-treat that night.  Our friends Traci, Steve, and Shawna joined us.

On chilly days and nights our dog, Jessee, gets to come inside.  She has an area in the entryway where her kennel is and a rug she can lay on.
Basketball practices and games have started.  Practices for Silas and Phoebe are fun this year because we have friends that are on their teams, and that means the sidelines are a good-fun place to be during practice and at the games.
Shout out to Popee and Nanee - Our kids have some of the best grandparents ever.  They hardly ever miss a game or an event for any of our three kids, whether it's a home or away game.  They cheer loud for our kids, love all three of our kids equally and unconditionally, and they truly enjoy spending time with and having fun with our kids.  Thank you Popee and Nanee for being some of our kids biggest fans in sports and in life!

Sarah tried out for and made the 7th grade basketball team.  Below, is a picture after one of her away games.
We went to visit Dad and Mom one weekend in November.  Dad was being honored at a Quilts of Valor ceremony for his military service.
That evening Eric and Silas went fishing in Grandma Great's pond.  They managed to catch a few Catfish.
We ate a delicious dinner that night at the Olpe Chicken House.
Below, Sarah, Phoebe, and Silas, and our dog, Jessee.
Mandy's birthday was in November.  She choose for our friend group to all eat lunch together at Pizza John's to celebrate.
Below, our group, Stacee, Silas, Mandy, Shawna, Traci, Abigail, Phoebe, Steve, David, Felicity, Sarah, and Eric.
I love Christmas, so our Christmas decorations came out and went up in November.  When you only get a short time to enjoy them every year, why not get them out a little early...
