The Last Two Months - April and May - Silas

Silas had a good last two months of school.  He continued to work hard and be a good leader in his classroom, and a good helper to his teacher.
He started taking spelling tests the few weeks of school with his high first grade reading group.  He also had to learn how to do word sorts and practice his spelling words at home.
The kindergarten classes had a special group come visit their classrooms and talk about plants and how they grow.  Then each student got to plant some bean seeds and watch them begin to grow.  Silas brought his home and we put it in our kitchen window where it continued to grow and produced 10 beans!
He learned about comparing and contrasting and making a Venn Diagram in his high first grade reading group.
He worked on some extra math in his home kindergarten room.
It was a rainy week when field days were scheduled for the school.  So, field days were held inside in the gym.  All kindergarteners get to participate in each event.  The events were a running race, bean bag toss, the egg and spoon race, hula-hooping, and limbo.
Silas did extra good in hula-hooping and got to have a contest against a classmate using two hula-hoops.
The last event was the limbo.
Silas made it under a couple of times but then on his third try lost his balance and did a diving leap as he tried not to knock the bar off....
He completed some fantastic art projects!
And, his report card showed that he did excellent the 4th nine weeks and the entire school year!
On the last day of school his class performed a little routine to a song called, "Spring Is Here".
Good job in Kindergarten, buddy!  You are ready to move on up to FIRST GRADE!
