Our February 2025

Homecoming week there were several "Spirit Days" that Sarah participated in... Adam Sandler day, Biker vs. Surfer day, Pink Wednesday..... Her outfits were perfect!
Sarah participated in "Signing Day" on February 5th. Approximately 10 kids from the High School signed that afternoon with different colleges in Kansas for various sports. Sarah has committed to Kansas State University to be a part of the K-State Rowing Team.
Ms. Stein, Sarah's second grade teacher, came to watch and be a part of this big day for Sarah.
Sarah was crowned Homecoming Queen on February 7th in between the girls and boys varsity basketball games. It was an exciting and fun evening for our family.
Lucy really likes to hang out in Sarah's room and with Sarah. She will really miss Sarah next fall when she heads to college.
Gus has a new spot that he likes to lay a lot. It's at the top of the stairs, on the landing.
Silas participated in Block Kids for a second year. All participants were given a time limit, the exact same Legos and some random supplies, presented with the rules, and then had to build something on their own that had to do with construction. Judges moved around and talked to the participants and judged them on various things about what they built. Silas built a bridge with water underneath it. He did not win or even place this year. Bummer. He was disappointed.
On Super Bowl Sunday we ate good food, cheered, and played our square game like we usually do. The Chiefs did not win, but most of us won at least one square throughout the game and picked some snacks for prizes.

Lindsee wanted to celebrate her birthday with us, so they came to Wichita for a day. Dad had bought us some chocolate covered bugs, so the first thing we did was see who could actually eat one... The results were hilarious! Lindsee, Eric, and Phoebe each ate at least one.
Lindsee took a turn holding our Bearded Dragon, Ralphie.
We had a Blockus tournament. Silas ended up winning, Phoebe took second, Lindsee third, Sarah fourth, EP fifth, Justin and Will sixth, Stacee seventh, and Eric eighth (last).
Then we played a few rounds of the game PIT. Followed by Pounce.
Later we went to Silas's basketball game, did a little shopping, and went out to eat.

One day I discovered a large flock of Turkeys at our backdoor. They traveled around our house and yard for a couple hours looking for things to eat while I watched them.

Sarah played in her last home basketball game of her high school career. She and two other girls were recognized for Senior Night. It was another fun night for Sarah and our family.
Sarah was given this amazing memory quilt made by the mom of another senior basketball player. Some of Sarah's favorite basketball pictures, kindergarten through senior year, along with some of her Colts t-shirts were used in creating this quilt.
In January, Silas tried out and was selected to be in the KMEA All State Honor Choir. On Friday, February 28th he attended an all-day conference that ended with the choir performance for family, friends, and the community downtown. Good job, Silas!
