For My Mom... MS Awareness and Fundraiser

MS, or Multiple Sclerosis is an unpredictable and devastating disease of the central nervous system.  MS can cause blurred vision, loss of balance, poor coordination, slurred speech, tremors, numbness, extreme fatigue, problems with memory and concentration, paralysis, blindness and more.  Many people have been and are faced with the diagnosis of this incurable and debilitating disease.

My Mom was diagnosed with MS about two years ago.  Since she has taken medicine to help keep the MS symptoms controlled.  Currently, she is taking Copaxone nightly, by injections.

Last year we learned of Walk MS.  My sister, brother and I immediately decided that we needed to have a team in honor of our Mom.  So, here we are approaching the Emporia Walk MS 2012.... We have a team started, "Go For Gloria!", and currently have 18 family members and friends registered to walk with us on our team on April 21st.  We couldn't be happier!  My sister and my wish, and intent, for our team was to show our Mom the support and love of her family and friends... This is exactly what is happening.  Our Mom has always been a supporter of others.  We want to help show her just how many people's lives SHE has touched, and how many people care, support and love HER!

Once there, toward the bottom of the page is a list of  our registered team members.  At the top of the list are the words, in orange, "Join Team".  Click on those words and it will take you through the simple and quick online registration process.

We also hope you will be moved to make a donation to our cause in honor of our Mom.  By making a donation you will be supporting research and local programs for those affected by this disease.  You may make an online donation by clicking on any of our registered team member's names toward the bottom of the team page in orange.  This will take you to that team member's personal fundraising page.  For instance, if you click on my name, Stacee Hendrickson, in orange, it will take you to my personal fundraising page... then in orange above the thermometer... are the words "Donate to Stacee".  Click there.  It will then take you through the easy online donation process.  Or, you can make out a check to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society and mail it to me anytime before April 14th.  (If you need my mailing address please email or call me.)  I will be collecting these checks and           turning them into the Wichita MS office.
