Father's Day Weekend

Every year the kids and I make a "Happy Father's Day" sign and then I attempt to take their picture with the sign.  We then add the picture into our collage frame with all the previous years photos.  This year I decided to let JCPenny photography studio help me out with taking the pictures of our three adorable children.  (I just knew this would save me from having high frustration levels, multiple photo shoots, making kids mad at me, and some potential high blood pressure issues.... I was right.  JCP did great!)  Below is our sign for this year.  We used a piece of white poster board and Sarah helped me paint the letters and do some coloring.  We used finger paints to make Sarah, Phoebe and Silas's handprints and then we turned them into fish swimming in the blue water.  We added some glitter paint/glue onto the fish eyes and tail fins to make them more cool and sparkly.

Sarah had been asking to camp out with Daddy, so on Friday of Father's Day weekend when Eric got home from work the girls helped him set up the tent and got their camping supplies ready for the camp out that night.
The excitement was building as the tent went up... Sarah helped push the stakes into the ground with her feet.  Phoebe couldn't wait to get inside the tent once it was up...
Here they are... beds ready inside, books to read, lanterns and flashlights working, UNO, Old Maid, and Go Fish card games to play, water bottles filled in case they were thirsty, and an order put in to the Mommy Cafe' for Smore's as a snack after dark.
Before settling into the tent for the night both girls liked looking for stars and climbing up into their Clubhouse and sliding down the yellow slide in the dark.  Phoebe made it until about 1:45 am, and Eric brought her in.  She kept crying about every 15 minutes Eric told me as he brought her in to me.... I got her tucked into her bed inside and she fell right asleep.  Sarah made it the whole night, waking up about 7:30 am.  When I asked Sarah what her favorite things were about camping, she said, "the stories Daddy made up, playing games, and sleeping, because I like to sleep."
Phoebe enjoys helping Eric when he is using tools and she loves to build with her Legos.  She especially loves when Daddy spends time with her building!  So, they had some Lego building time over the weekend.
Sarah has been liking to play games lately... especially UNO, Old Maid, and Go Fish.  So, there was lots of game playing over the weekend with Daddy.
Happy 7th Father's Day to our fantastic Daddy!
