Time With Grandma Great

**GUEST BLOGGER**
 ~ Eric Hendrickson ~

On June 13th, we went to see Grandma Great in Olpe.  After church, we thought it would be fun to catch some channel cat in Grandma's farm pond.
It wasn't but a few seconds into getting the first bait in the water that we had a bite.  The fishing pole was sitting next to Silas and Grandma Great and shot like a torpedo out into the water.  I waded out to try to find it, but was unsuccessful.  Mike was able to snag the pole with the hook of another pole.  Too bad the fish was no longer on it.
Mike and I would bait, cast, and set the hook.  Then, we would let Silas and Sarah reel them in.  For some reason, Phoebe didn't want to participate in the fishing this time.
Silas and Sarah touched the fish.
The pond is completely full due to the rainy spring.
We were using chicken livers for bait and five gallon buckets for seats.
We only fished for an hour or so but we caught 6 fish between 1 and 8 pounds.
After fishing, we enjoyed some peaceful time out on the brick patio.  Below is the rocker I can remember from when I was a youngster.  You can see the different colors it has been painted - prime red, white, and the latest color is black.
We had a great time Grandma (Great).  We'll come see you soon to do it again.
