Phoebe continues to do very well in Kindergarten. She loves her teacher and has many friends in her class and in the other Kindergarten classrooms. She looks forward to going to school each day. She had Strep Throat at the beginning of December and had to miss 2 1/2 days of school which made her a little sad. Her handwriting is getting better and better. She knows how to make all of her letters, what sounds they make, and has started to read some beginner books on her own. She also has started to write sentences sounding out words all by herself and writing the sounds that she hears.
Tell me about the Turkey with Skittles candy feathers.
Phoebe: "When it was my turn I picked a color and got the glue stick and dipped it in the glue then I put the glue on the turkey and then put the Skittle on. I had to put the Skittles in the right color spots. I had to fill every spot with a Skittle."

Phoebe's class participates in the Pizza Hut Book It program. She colors the picture in the squares on the calendar on each day that she reads or is read to for 20 minutes. She must have at least 4 days a week colored to earn her Pizza Hut Book It coupon each month.
Below is Phoebe's November calendar that she brought home every night from school in November. A parent must initial it each night and send it back to school in the morning. Each school day, at the end of the day, Phoebe gets to color the square with the color that her clip/clothespin has moved to and is still on at the end of the day. 10 green days, 7 blue days in November.
The girls got to enjoy a school lunch one day in December with Popee and Nanee. The school held a "eat with your grandchild" day, for any grandparents to come visit the school and eat lunch with their grandchildren. All four of them ate a school hot lunch together. It was Phoebe's first time to eat a school lunch. She has always packed and taken a lunch to school with her in her Doc McStuffins lunchbox.
