Triple Slip-N-Slide
Silas got the triple Slip-N-Slide for his birthday from one of his friends. We took it to Popee and Nanee's house over the weekend to give it a try.
It worked really well. The kids had slide races, funny slides, and made up games with Popee on it.
One of the games was to run and slide while Popee tried to hit you with balls. If you got hit you were out.
There were lots of laughs from the kids, Popee, Nanee, and myself!
Tanganyika Wildlife Park
We enjoyed another visit to Tanganyika. This time we got to see and touch a huge albino Boa.
Silas fed the Tortoise.
And, he fed Stacks, the Rhino.
He and Sarah rode Charlie, the Camel.
Then they fed the Pygmy Hippos.
A Home Production of the Little Mermaid
The kids practiced and put on a home play of the Little Mermaid for us one evening. It was good and hilarious. They made their own props and created costumes from clothes and things they found in our house.
Shark Attack
While waiting for Sarah at volleyball practice one night Silas and I found this funny Shark head!
Climbing Cats
Our cats, especially Bruce, have become quite the climbers... onto the top of the clubhouse, trees, and garages.
I went outside and found both of them up in this big Cottonwood Tree one afternoon. Charlie is harder to see. His gray stripes help him blend in and hide better than Bruce who is black and white.
October
Fall Fun with Friends
The girls and I were invited over to a friends house to paint pumpkins and decorate cupcakes one evening in October.
It was fun for us to hang out for a few hours with some of our good friends and share lots of laughs.
Below, Haylee, Phoebe, Shawna, and Abigail.
Phoebe's painted her pumpkin like the Grinch and Sarah painted her pumpkin like a beach.
We tried to build a kid pyramid.
Below, Traci, Mandy, Stacee, and Jenny.
Did I mention lots of laughs?!?!?
Phoebe decorated some great pumpkin patch cupcakes.
See You At The Pole
Eric and Sarah went to school early one morning for the annual "See You At The Pole" prayer meeting. There were a few others there that they knew.
Silas, Phoebe, and I went early to prayer with others at their school.
Piano Lessons
Silas is moving right along in his piano lessons. Sometimes it is hard for him to sit for a full 30 minute lesson. One day he really just wanted to play the "dudette" (duet) "Heart and Soul with his teacher, Ms. Donna. She gave in and sat down on the bench with him and they began to play.
As they played together their smiles grew and grew.
Our Anniversary
Eric and I celebrated 15 years of being married on October 4th. Lindsee and Will were visiting us then and Sarah had volleyball practice that night.
Finally at about 9pm we all headed to Taco Bell for dinner. Memorable? Yes! I love him and our family and it was a great evening spent all together.
Family Visit
Lindsee and Will flew into town on a Thursday evening. Silas, Phoebe, and I got to pick them up from the airport. Will was all smiles as soon as he saw his cousins.
Sarah helped Lindsee feed him a quick dinner before we headed to her volleyball practice.
Dad and Mom, and Ernie and Judy also came to visit all of us. They stayed in a hotel with a pool close to our house. All the kids enjoyed swimming one evening. Will was super tired and fell asleep.
We all had lots of fun playing with Will and helping Lindsee take care of him.
Sarah had a big cheering crowd at her volleyball game that Saturday.
It was a short, but good family visit.
A Day Off
The kids had an extra day off school in October. We had our friend Shawna stay with us that day. It was nice enough outside that we got to spend an hour at the park.
Tanganyika
Dad and Mom finally got to come to town on a nice October day and we all went to Tanganyika.
Sarah let Popee use her feeder pass for the day so that he could experience feeding and interacting with some of the animals at the park.
Above, feeding Guinea Pigs, and below feeding Larakeets.
He and Phoebe also took a turn feeding the Pygmy Hippos.
Sarah and Phoebe rode Charlie the Camel this visit.
And, we all got to go in with the Kangaroos. It was a fun day.
