Birthday Princess

We celebrated Sarah's birthday last week.  She turned seven!  Wow, what a little lady, our Princess.  And, when I say Princess, I mean it.  Her name, Sarah, literally means Princess, but she plays the part well.

One moment she can be tough and brave, and the next she is prancing around happy, but on the edge of an ultimate freak out if a bug should happen to land on her or touch her.  Then the next she is right back into dribbling her basketball, climbing a tree, and frog catching.  She is a little girl with a huge heart for others.  She is aware of people around her and realizes at just the right moment when someone needs a friend, a hand to hold, or a hug.  She is beautiful inside and out.  She is intelligent and a perfectionist.  She likes to do things right the first time and tries hard, especially at school to do things correctly the first time.  She can be sassy and silly, and knows just the right times to turn both the sass and silly on.  She is a great big sister to Phoebe and Silas.  She loves them both very much and tries her hardest to help care for them and play with them.

God gave Eric and I Sarah at a time when we needed her the most in our lives.  He gave us hope and happiness through this sweet baby girl seven years ago, and the hope and happiness continues to multiply and overflow from her daily.  She brings joy to our lives and I am so thankful for her everyday.

Sarah picked to eat somewhere with an indoor play area for her birthday dinner.  We ended up at a Burger King near our house.  The Burger King has a new fancy pop machine.  We each had fun picking which kind of drink to try next.  Both girls liked sprite with flavoring mixed into it, like grape, cherry, or strawberry.
Playing in the tunnels and slides after dinner....
After dinner, back at home, pajamas on, PRESENT TIME!
Olaf the snowman from Disney's Frozen from Silas.

Sarah kept hugging Phoebe over and over when opening the present from her and while looking at the card Phoebe had made for her.  She gave her two new chapter books and a new headband.
Below - left: the front of Phoebe's card to Sarah, she drew herself and Sarah.  Below - right:  She signed her own name, wrote a few more letters, and told us that the pink object that she drew was a refrigerator.
Below: the back of the card had flowers and a garden that Phoebe drew on it.
New clothes from Daddy and Mommy...and a Princess Bedtime Devotional book.
And, a pretty new necklace made by The Rusted Chain Jewelry especially for Sarah!  She was so excited when she read the handstamped metal disc, "Let It Go", her favorite song from the Disney movie Frozen, with Frozen colored beads to make it sparkle.
Finally, right before going to bed, special ice cream sundae treats!  Yum-O!
Happy birthday to you.  Happy birthday to you.  Happy birthday dear sweet Sarah.  Happy birthday to you!
