Sarah wanted to have a Disney ~ "Frozen" themed birthday party this year. So last Saturday was party day! We decorated with pennant flags that I made, silver garland, Frozen balloons and table decorations.
Popee and Nanee were here to help us celebrate. The weather started to get bad that afternoon (ice and snow), so some other relatives didn't want to drive in the mess, and that is okay, but Nanee and Popee planned ahead and drove to our house the night before... just in case the roads were bad... (Good thinking Dad!).
Sarah was very excited to get the American Girl dog named "Honey" and some very cute new clothes from Nanee and Popee.
She also opened presents from Grandma Sharon, Uncle Bret, Aunt Andrea, and cousins Ayden and Kallin. She was happy about Frozen books and a musical Elsa doll!
Popee put his cake making talents to work again for us... He made a three-layer Frozen cake! It had icicles, snowflakes, and snow! It looked fantastic.
We also had some blue icing cupcakes and blue Hawaiian punch.
Dad used the girls' Frozen characters to decorate the cake layers.
For a party favor, I made white chocolate covered giant marshmallows on a stick for everyone to take home. Phoebe helped me sprinkle them with purple, blue, and silver edible sprinkles. Then we tied them closed in a baggie with a "thank you" tag from Sarah.

When the guests arrived they were all directed downstairs to "build a snowman". Eric and I had all the snowman supplies laid out and ready. Each person could build and decorate their own snowman. Then they had to give it a name and tell us something that their snowman likes. This goes along with the Frozen movie. In the movie, Elsa builds Olaf, the snowman. Olaf comes to life, and he likes "warm hugs".
Our friend, Carl, came to Sarah's party. He brought his guitar and sang Sarah her very own special "Happy Birthday" song.
Here are our families snowmen that we each built....
Stacee- "Hi! My name is Olaf. I like warm hugs."
Eric- "Hi my name is Willy. I like Wildcats." Sarah- "Hi my name is Witly Dog. I like my name."
Phoebe- "Hi my name is Elmo. I like big snowflakes." and "Hi my name is Nanee. I like snowflakes." Dad- "Hi my name is Bobo. I like lots of snow ."
Party guests: *top row, left to right - Lauren, Sarah, Hannah, Lydia, Ivory, Anna, Morgan, *bottom row, left to right - Savannah, Kailyn, and Rian (not pictured) Daddy, Mommy, Popee, Nanee, Phoebe, and Silas. (Silas actually slept through the whole party!)
Time for cake!
Happy birthday to you. Happy birthday to you. Happy birthday dear Sarah. Happy birthday to you.
Present time! Sarah received many nice things from each one of her friends. As she was opening the presents the girls all kept creeping closer and closer to her. She told them a few times, "Okay, I think it is time to scoot back."
Thank you Popee and Nanee and all the girls for coming to Sarah's party. We hope you all had a fun time celebrating Sarah's birthday with us.
