Sarah played Upward Basketball over the past few months and I helped coach. The league had a total of four teams, with the girls ranging from 1st grade through 3rd grade. Our team is called the Storm. Now, since we played our last game of the season today, it is fitting to provide you with a recap of our season.
Back Row left to right - Coach Brad, Sarah, Georgia, Emily and Coach Eric. Front Row left to right - Rebecca, Ava, Kehlen.
Game One
Our first game was against a strong team. We had a good lead the entire game, but lost the lead and the game in the last period. For the most part, we played timid, which was the case for all the teams on this first game.
Game Two
We played very well this game and won. We stressed playing aggressive and tough, which they did.
Look at Sarah being ready for the pass. Good job.
Game Three
Game 3 was my favorite game of the year. Coach Brad was out of town so I got to coach solo. The opposing team was undefeated and as you can see a team of giants. The girls played tough, giving it all they had. The game ended up in a tie. The other team won every game they played this year, except this one.
Game Four
Game 4 was a rematch against the team we lost to in game 1. We were victorious this time around.
Popee and Nanee made it to most of the games this year.
I am a very vocal coach and like to get right in the action. Coach Brad would coach one half of the court and I would coach the other. After 4 games, our team was 2 wins -1 loss -1 tie.
