**GUEST BLOGGER**
~ Eric Hendrickson ~
We had our end of the year softball party at the park on Sunday, 7/10, for all the girls on our team and their families.
We set up a couple slip and slides and a sprinkler.
For dinner, we had pizza, fruit salad, and desserts.
We had a great group of parents this year. All supportive and thankful, no complaints.
We played a game of water balloon baseball. We split the kids into two teams. Each batter got one pitch. If they hit the balloon they got a run.
Then, after swinging, they would have to run and slide to the end of the slip and slide while four throwers hurled a water balloon at the them. If the runner got to the end without getting hit they would score another run for their team.
Silas played and hit the balloon twice out of his three times at bat.
Phoebe also played and did well.
I was the ump calling the runner out or safe.
It was a close game, 19-17. Sarah's team won!
After the game, we handed out the medals and picture books. Stacee for the most part, and I, took the pictures throughout the season, and put together the picture books for each girl and each coach. It is a great way to capture the season and provide motivation for next year.
Coach DJ, Coach Matt, and I will be coaching most of these girls again as they move up to girl pitch softball. If Phoebe decides to play, Coach DJ and I will also be coaching machine pitch softball again next year. It was a great year with a great group of players, parents, and coaches. I pray that God continues to bless us and strengthen us as we move forward to next season. See you next year girls!
