Silas's April and May School Report

Silas finished up his last two months of pre-k in April and May.
He really enjoyed getting to paint, use scissors, and glue to make craft projects.
His writing improved and he started to use lowercase and uppercase letters.
He completed some testing with his teacher to evaluate what he has learned and can do.
What are some of the things that you got to eat for snacks when you are at school?
Silas:  graham crackers, marshmallows and pretzels, fruit chews, cheese balls, water was always our drink.
What was something you really liked learning about at school this year?
Silas:  Writing my numbers and Bible time.  Bible time was when my teacher told us a Bible story.
Silas helped raise some money for his school by participating in his school's Bowl-A-Thon.  Each student got to bowl one game with their friends.  They used the bumpers in the gutters to prevent gutter balls.  Some of the students used the ramp to get their ball down the lane, and some tried it without the ramp.  Silas tried it both ways.
Thank you to our family members who made a donation to help Silas's school.
Silas enjoyed his mornings at school.  He looked forward to seeing his teacher and playing with his friends.
What is one of the things you liked best about your time at school?
Silas:  Playing with my friends and going on the field trips.
Silas got to go to Kindergarten round-up in May.  He will start all-day Kindergarten in August.
Below, are the results of the testing that Silas did with his teacher in April and May.  He is a smart boy and has learned a lot in pre-k.
On May 17th his school had a pre-k graduation program and ceremony.  It had a military theme.  Each child was given, and wore, a "God's Army" shirt.  They each got to wear military hats too.  They sang a few songs, marched, and saluted.  It was a cute program.
Silas had a small speaking part.
He did a good job remembering all the actions and moves to the songs that they performed.
Lastly the older kids changed into their graduation caps and came back into the sanctuary to receive their graduation gifts, and watch a short video recap of the year.
Silas was all smiles when his name was called and he went back on stage to receive his diploma and gift.
Both Sarah and Phoebe had softball games the night of Silas's graduation so Eric and Popee went with the girls to the games and Nanee, Aunt Wyonna, and I attended Silas's graduation.
After his graduation he actually had two weeks left of school.  He was glad to have a few more times to go and see his teacher and friends.
Keep up the good work Silas!  You had a great first year of school.
