Two of my closest friends and I got to go on a little get-away at the end of December. There were supposed to be 4 of us, but one Mom had to stay and take care of sick family members. (Mom duties never end.) We missed her a lot! We called it the Mom Get-Away. Now I just refer to the four of us as the Hot Mom's Club. We left in the late afternoon and headed for Tulsa. We had a nice hotel to stay at. After checking in and unloading the car we went to eat at a delicious Mexican restaurant, called El Tequila, close to our hotel.
We ate lots of yummy food, told lots of stories, and laughed a LOT.
The next morning we slept in a bit, got ourselves together, and drove to Pawhuska, Oklahoma to visit the Pioneer Woman's Mercantile and eat a meal there. Upon arrival we put our name on the food waiting list and proceeded to look around the Merc. I immediately spotted Ladd, or as the Pioneer Woman calls him, Marlboro Man (her husband)! Wow-We! We took a couple pictures with him and visited for a bit, then made some purchases.
We wandered around the town a bit and looked in several other little shops before we got the text saying that our table was ready for us. Our wait time was about 2 1/2 hours, but we filled it with shopping and more laughing.
Our meals were delicious! Jenny had Dr. Pepper Pork. I had the Tomato Soup and Dippers, and Traci had the Chicken Fried Steak.
After eating we had planned to head out to the Drummond Ranch for our Lodge tour but our server tipped us off that Ree, the Pioneer Woman, was on her way in and if we wanted to meet her we should stick around just a bit more. So we did. We each got one of her children's books for her to sign for our kids and took our picture with her.
After meeting Ree, we headed out the the Ranch to see the Lodge. The Lodge is were her cooking show is filmed and what they use to host guests sometimes.
It was amazing, big, open, beautiful inside and out, with views forever of some of their ranch. It is nestled about 3/4 of the way up a fairly steep hill and overlooks several ponds and their land.
The countertop below was concrete.
I loved the big fireplace located in the center of the dining/living room areas.
Walter, one of the family's Basset Hounds was there to enjoy being pet by anyone visiting the Lodge.
There were several bedrooms and bathrooms, all with walkout doors to the wrap around deck.
All of the bathrooms were decorated very simply and spacious.
Below, is another kitchen area and off of this big room were two smaller rooms that cooking supplies/ingredients are kept along with things for filming the cooking shows.
I found their Ranch Rodeo trophy displayed in one area of the Lodge.
Just look at some of these amazing views.....
What a totally fun trip of the Hot Mom's Club. I CANNOT WAIT for our next outing! Love you, friends!
