Silas - Game #1 vs. Nuggets- January 12th
Since Phoebe plays her games right after Silas's games, I was unable to coach Silas this year. Thankfully our friends, David and Mandy, decided to coach. I helped David this morning for the first half because Mandy was with their oldest daughter at a game for another basketball league.

Silas is #11 this year. For the most part, the kids were doing a good job of moving the ball up the court and making baskets.
Silas made 4 baskets but didn't shoot much. We encourage him to pass.

Phoebe - Game #1 vs. Sun - January 12th
Phoebe's team is called the Supersonics. She is number #15 this year. We break every huddle with, "Sonics for Jesus".
Our girls got to play a double header right out of the gate.
Phoebe played well and was often paired up against her friends, Haylee or Shawna.
The mom friends (also now calling themselves the Hot Mom's Club) enjoyed watching their daughters play and cheering/yelling loudly for them.
We won 40-20. Phoebe had 16 points.

Phoebe - Game #2 vs. Rockets - January 12th
As soon as the first game completed, we got in line to come out for the next one. In Upward, each kid comes out in the spotlight when their name is announced. It is fun for them.
Stacee had to leave before this game got started because Sarah had a game at 11:00 for the other league she is playing in. Thank you to our friend, Andrea for taking some pictures of Phoebe during this game.
The other team came out playing well and we were playing flat. This surprised me, since it was our second game and their first. We seemed more nervous than they were.We were down 12-8 at halftime.
Looks like I was a little to close to the court. Phoebe played good defense and with a lot of intensity.
She drained both of her free throws.
We came back from behind and won 24-18. We have a good group of girls and will be tough to beat this year. Phoebe scored 8 points this game. I had to rush through handing out stars after the game, because I had to hurry over to the HAC to catch the last of Sarah's game. Good start Sonics.
Sarah - Game #1 vs. Celtics - January 12th
Sarah's team is called the Nets. She is #33 this year. There are only two teams of her age group in the this league this year, so we will be playing the Celtics every week. I thought we had a pretty good team going into this, and I was proved right.
The other team had a tough day and once they got down seemed to throw in the towel.
Sarah scored 26 points, with 22 of them coming off lay-ups.
Sarah posed with her friend Abigail. We are happy that she is on our team this year.

We won 44-6. I foresee Upward making some roster changes to even up the teams. If they don't, it will make for a long season.
It was a great day of basketball for the Hendrickson family. 5 games (4 Upward games and 1 HAC game), 35 baskets made altogether today for a grand total of 70 points scored by our kids. Good job kiddos.
