Exactly one week ago was Mother's Day. I was happy to go to church that morning with my husband and three adorable children. Of course, I had the gauze on my face to cover my wound, but I was still happy. Remember, the cancer is gone! (I am getting use to wearing the gauze...maybe I will start a new fashion trend. Hi, I am Ms. Gauze Face. Or, maybe not, whatever.) Anyway, I had a great Mother's Day...Church, Sonic for lunch, a nap in the afternoon, and dinner that evening with my family and my parents at the Olive Garden, and cake.
Phoebe was excited to give me a special gift that she made a school for me. She brought it home the Thursday before Mother's Day, and I thought she was not going to be able to keep the secret of what she had made and wrapped up in this special package for me... She kept giving me little clues as to what it was, but kept the package "hidden" from me on top of her jewelry box in her room. When I finally got to open it on Sunday evening, I discovered the beautiful wooden bead bracelet that she had strung at school and wrapped in paper that she had decorated herself. How sweet!
Sarah got crazy making me cards. She made me one at school, and painted me a monkey card at home. She also made me this fantastic Mother's Day book.
My Mom is really good at... "being nice, coloring, making art, and ckoocing (cooking)"
My Mom's favorites... food is "grapes", color is "blue", animal is "baby dog", hobby is "shopping"
I love my Mom because... "She kisses by boo boos She brades my hair She gives me hugs She lets me watch mooveis She helps me with my homework". This part was hilarious to me because of the movie Despicable Me 2... In this movie the littlest girl is rehearsing for a Mother's Day play. Her lines are, She kisses my boo boos, she braids my hair, we love you mother's everywhere. Sarah and I laugh at this part of the movie each time we watch it. So, when I read what Sarah had written in my book on this page, she and I could not stop laughing! Even Eric thought it was funny that Sarah had included this in her book.
After dinner, presents, and cards we all ate a homemade chocolate Mother's Day cake that my Dad had made for my Mom and I. Yumm-o. I heart cake. All kinds of cake, but especially chocolate cake.
Happy Mother's Day to my Mom and to Me. And, here's to wearing gauze on my face for at least another month.
