Her Ninth Birthday

Sarah's birthday fell on a Saturday this year.  She picked to eat lunch at Texas Roadhouse that day.  She was a little nervous about riding the "bull", as she called it, for her birthday there, but wanted the fun atmosphere and the yummy food from there.
At the end of the meal it was "bull" time.  She climbed into the saddle with a big smile on her face, the lunch crowd gave a rowdy "YE-HAW!"  She waved the napkin around in the air, and I took her picture!

It was a beautiful day outside.  So, our next stop was the park.  The kids all had a great time playing, climbing, and running around for about two hours.
There was a nice lady who shared some old bread with our kids to feed the ducks and geese.
Later in the afternoon Sarah opened her birthday presents from us... Phoebe gave her the Disney "Descendants" book and soundtrack.
Silas gave Sarah some new Barbie hair fixing tools for her big Barbie head.
She got clothes, books, and season one of the "Little House on the Prairie" series on DVD from Eric and I.
That evening was the Daddy Daughter Dance.  The girls both had new dresses to wear to the dance.
I fixed their hair and Daddy gave them each a beautiful wrist corsage.
After the Daddy Daughter Dance that night, we sang "Happy Birthday" to Sarah and ate ice cream cake one more time.
Sarah had also requested that we all go to the zoo for her birthday, so the next day we went to the zoo.  We got a good laugh from the sheep (pictured below).  It was a calm sheep who seemed to be smiling at us, and smiling at us, and smiling some more at us... with it's teeth sticking out!  The kids posed for a picture with it, and each tried to do their best smiling sheep impression.

Sarah really wanted to see some baby Sheep and Goats, but there were not any yet to see or pet.
We stood by the lion enclosure for awhile watching the big male Lion.  We all took turns roaring gruffly and loudly to see if he would roar back at us.  He ignored us until we were walking away... Then another Lion that was inside began to roar, only then did he start to roar loudly back to it.
At the end of our zoo visit Sarah got to pick a souvenir from the zoo gift shop because it was her birthday trip to the zoo.  There were a LOT of choices in the gift shop and it was very hard for her to reach a decision, but she ended up picking a  colorful elephant necklace and bracelet.

And, Just last week, on March 15th, we finally got together with Nanee and Popee to celebrate Sarah's birthday.  Nanee made a cheesecake because she knows Sarah likes them a lot and she opened her gifts from them.
She got some new clothes, an American Girl Dog and book, and the Barbie Farm Vet that she had been hoping for.
Happy Birthday Sarah!  We hope you enjoyed all of the days and ways we celebrated your birthday this year!
