Sarah's March And April Schoolwork

Sarah's teacher continued teaching and working with her class on Cursive these past couple months.  Sarah's Cursive writing is looking very good thanks to the jump start teaching her Cursive last summer from the old pro, Nanee, and now her teacher.
Sarah researched and gave a written and oral report on the Olympic Rings to her class.
She continues to do great in math.  Even though she says math is her least favorite subject, she does well at it.
Sarah loves to read.  She has read lots of chapter books this year and has already reached her A.R. (Accelerated Reading) goal.  She continues to read books, take A.R. tests, and earn points (by doing well on the comprehension A.R. tests).  Each child gets to spend their points earned at the A.R. store at the end of each quarter.
Sarah made the flower project below.  It was hanging in the hallway outside her classroom at school.
Below, Sarah's story about what it would be like if Oobleck came down in her classroom... (Oobleck is a type of slime in a Dr. Seuss book).
She learned about maps, reading maps, and using a compass.
The 4th grade performed about 5 songs at the district wide Art Fair in April.  Nanee and Popee came to watch.
Below, left, is Sarah's apple art project that was displayed at the district wide Art Fair.
She studied liquid measurements and how to convert measurements.  They made chocolate chip cookie dough in class one day, then brought it home to bake.
Sarah and her classmates had state assessment testing in April.  Five blank notecards were secretly sent home to the parents of children who would be testing.  We were asked to write encouraging messages on the cards and send them back in.  The cards would be distributed to the students each morning or afternoon before they started their testing sessions.  We used the front and back of our cards and sent Sarah messages from Silas, Popee, Mommy, Daddy, Phoebe, Aunt Lindsee and Uncle EP, Aunt Andrea, and Nanee.
Sometimes Sarah's spelling words for the week seem very challenging.  She studies her words at home with us during the week and at school.
3rd nine weeks report card - Another Great Job!  Way to go Sarah!
