Vacation Day 2 - Fairplay

Eric and Rex left early Tuesday morning to drive to Fairplay, South Park, Colorado, where Rex's construction jobsite is located.  It is about a two hour drive from their house to the site.  Angie and I got the little girls around later in the morning, packed and loaded the vehicles and drove there to meet the guys for lunch and fun in Fairplay.

After lunch, we took the girls to a park to play.  Sarah, Lexi and Avery had a great time on the tire swing and the regular swings.  Phoebe didn't enjoy them as much.  She liked sliding, walking around and climbing on things.

We also walked around the old downtown area and went in a few shops.  They have a donkey race each July there.  What a beautiful place in the mountains to visit.

Then we checked into our hotel for some swimming before supper.  The water in the pool was pretty cold, but it didn't stop the little girls from getting in.  The daddies weren't thrilled about the cold water, but after jumping in, had fun with their girls.  Sarah did awesome swimming there... she had a big "noodle" to hang onto which helped keep her afloat.  She kicked and swam all over the pool. 

After eating dinner, we stopped by Rex's jobsite to check it out and look at some rocks.

I am so thankful for our friends Rex, Angie, Lexi, and Avery.  They are kind, giving, and always welcome us with open arms.  It is rare, and a true blessing, to have a friend that you will have for life.  Rex and Eric share that kind of friendship and I am so glad our families share this now too.  Thanks Rex and Angie for a great time!
