Happy Fourth of July! All the girls headed into Colorado Springs Thursday morning. We had an appointment at David's Bridal for Lindsee to try on LOTS of wedding gowns. Mom, Aunt Wyonna, Sarah, Phoebe, Patti (EP's Mom - Lindsee's Mother-in-law to be), and myself all gave her the thumbs up or thumbs down each time she came out of the dressing room with a different dress on. We helped her narrow it down to three, and I am fairly certain she has a favorite of those three. I cannot post the pictures that I took of Lindsee trying on the dresses.... We don't want EP to see them yet! But here are a few of myself, Sarah and Phoebe trying on some Maid of Honor dresses, and Flower Girl dresses. We all are very excited for June 28th, 2014, when Lindsee will walk down the aisle and marry Eric Paul!
Back at the cabin, before going to Cripple Creek later in the day... Family picture time... Jim (EP's step-dad) joined us for a picture.
Because Colorado has been so dry over the last months and year there were fire bans everywhere and most fireworks displays were canceled again this year. Cripple Creek was no different... canceled for 2013, again. We have watched the fireworks in Cripple Creek before and they are always great with the mountains as a backdrop. Maybe we will get to see a fireworks display again somewhere in Colorado next year.
We all enjoyed walking up and down the old streets of downtown, a little bit of gambling, some shopping, and a great dinner with family at Baja Billy's Restaurant and Cantina.
Not only does Baja Billy's bring out great salsa and chips for everyone to graze on, but they also serve a yummy bean dip. Silas loved it!
After dinner as we were walking back down the main street we could here the Fourth of July band playing a George Strait song, "Cowboy Rides Away", from the park. We stopped and danced and sang along right there on the sidewalk. What a fun evening!
