Good-Bye Colorado - Heading Home

Friday, day seven, the day to pack our suitcases back up, load the van, and drive back to Kansas... Three kittens found their way to the cabin that morning.  They were cute, like all kittens are, and wanted attention very badly.  Sarah and Phoebe were very happy to pet and play with them!
The grandkids with their Nanee and Popee...
We saw this Elk on the backroad as we were leaving the cabin headed toward Woodland Park.
We stopped at a park in Woodland Park to let the girls play for awhile before we got in and started the long drive.  We figured running around for thirty minutes or so would maybe help them be able to sit still in the van once we got going.  So, they had some slide races, then a big game of Tag.
The big blue pole was the base.
Yay for Aunt Lindsee!  We all miss you and EP.  (I wish we lived a little closer to each other... like fifteen minutes or an hour apart instead of eight or nine hours... maybe you guys could move back to Kansas?)
Pike's Peak
And, here we are, back in Kansas.  The kids all did great traveling.  We stopped in Colby and let the girls play for another short time on the outdoor play ground at Arby's, ate dinner, and got back on the road again.  We made it home by about 12:30 am.  We had a great week in Colorado - one of my most favorite and one of the most beautiful places to go.
