Snow Days

We had three snow days last week.  Over night and during the daytime on Tuesday we got about 6 inches of snow at our house.  Then temperatures dropped and it was freezing cold.  Schools here were closed for three days in a row.
On the first day both girls helped me shovel (a little bit) the driveway while Silas took a nap.  Eric was pleasantly surprised when he got home from work, and discovered that he did not have to shovel at all.
Of course, both girls got a little thirsty and hungry during the shoveling, and had to take a snow eating break...
Phoebe only shoveled about three scoops of snow, but she wanted to help like her big sister, so she gets an A+ for the effort.

After shoveling we went inside and got Silas up from his nap and dressed him up in all his warm clothes.  Then we waited for Daddy to get home.  When he got home we all went down the street to do some sledding before it got super-duper cold.  This time I went down the hill a few times too.  I love that scary fun feeling of racing down a hill, not knowing if you might fall off, catch some air, or spin around and around....
Phoebe got Sarah to pull her back up the hill a couple of times.  What a good big sister, and strong!
Then they went down the hill a couple times together!

Happy snow days and happy kids!
