Game 7 - Monday, June 5th
We played another Haysville team tonight that we knew was not a very good team. So, we played a lot of our reserves in the infield and flipped our line-up so those that normally hit first were actually hitting last.
Sarah did get to play an inning at 1st base. The remaining three were played in the outfield.
Emerie looked great pitching tonight. I was quite impressed.
Sarah generates a lot of power in her swing. Looks like we may need to flatten the bat a little bit.
Sarah had three at bats. She walked and hit a hard ground ball to shortstop for a single. She also got hit with pitch in the hip and got to take her base.
I got a little bored with this one as our girls did a lot of walking.
Hannah pitched great tonight! I am excited for our pitching in the upcoming three games, which will be our toughest remaining games of regular season play.
We won, 19-5.
Sarah had a big fan club tonight with Lindsee, Eric, and Dale joining the regular crew. Pictured above, left to right, Paul, Gloria, Me, Phoebe, Lindsee, Silas, EP, Sarah, Dale, and Stacee.
Game 8 - Wednesday, June 7th
We played Haysville 1 tonight, the third time we have played them this year. They are pretty good team. Two of Sarah's friends, Brooke and Lauren play on Haysville 1.
We did not play well as a team, but Sarah played well. Above, I love that smile as she got up to bat the first time....She looked over at her sister and brother, who were chanting, "Let's go Sarah, let's go!"
Quinn pitched the first few innings.
Sarah played shortstop for this game.
Rhyan played well and had a few hits. Above, Rhyan at bat and Sarah ready to race in or steal home from third base.
Sarah had another opportunity to steal home later in the game too. Below, she came sprinting in from third, slid, and was SAFE, scoring another run for the Diamonds.
Hannah pitched the final couple innings.
Final score, 14 -13. We won.
Game 9 - Thursday June 8th
We did not play a good game on Wednesday, June 7th, but we played a great game tonight.
The girls were excited and ready to play.
Emerie is impressing me as a pitcher. Her attitude, athleticism, and hard work is what all coaches want in a player.
Sarah got two great hits tonight. A single and a double. The double was a fly ball to short outfield, as she got to second she was told to run to third and was tagged out on the base. Two runs came in because of her hard hit! The single was a ground ball to second base.
That's MY girl!
Hannah came in to close out the last two innings for us. She did amazing, striking girl after girl out! She even had a great play stopping one hit by a Rosehill player and throwing the girl out at first base. Way to go Hurricane Hannah!
Sarah played third base for this game. She did great being ready and catching and stopping throws from Mylie (catcher) to try to tag girls out at third who were stealing. Mylie and Sarah did not let any girls steal third base during this game. Way to go girls!
Diamonds win! 11 - 1.
Mike, Grandma Great, Popee, and Nanee all came to watch both Phoebe and Sarah's games tonight.
Grandma Greats hip was hurting too bad to make the long walk from the parking lot to the field for Sarah's game so she stayed in the car. She took a picture at the end of the game with her Greats.
